ਜਦੋਂ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਨਾ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਆਹਾਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ।
