ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਘਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਇ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੋ।”
2 Samuel 19:6

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਯੋਆਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੌਲੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਓੜੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨੁਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਸਲੀ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ, ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਸਾਹੇਲ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਇਉਂ ਯੋਆਬ ਨੇ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Luke 16:5
