Psalm 118:6
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਾਂਗਾ। ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ। ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਆ ਵੜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਆਕੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਸਵੇਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਬਦਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਦੁਪਿਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ-ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੱਧਰ-ਉੱਧਰ ਭੱਜ ਖਲੋਤੇ। ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਖਿੰਡਰ ਗਏ, ਕੋਈ ਦੋ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ।
Judges 9:43
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਬੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਛੁਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉੱਛਲ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Judges 7:19
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੇ 100 ਆਦਮੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੀਕ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਰ ਸੀ। ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਵਜਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੱਗ ਭੰਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
