ਤਦ ਅਹਾਬ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੀਕਾਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਆਮੋਨ ਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜ ਦੇ।

Jeremiah 37:15
ਉਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਮਾਨੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਕੈਦ ਯਹੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮਕਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਮੁਣਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਮਕਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਕੇ ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਟੋਆ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਵਰਾਂਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਾਰਦ ਤੈਨਾਤ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਗਾਰਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਗਾਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੁਭ ਗਿਆ।
Acts 24:25
ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਲਿਕੁਸ ਘਬਰਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੌਲੁਸ ਨੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਲਿਕੁਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਜਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਕਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ।”
