12 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ ਬਹਾਲ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ, ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਫ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਬਨ-ਅਜ਼ਰ ਮਦਦ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣ। ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।”
13 ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਰ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਵੜੇ। ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
14 ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਥ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਨਗਰ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਅਮਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
15 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
16 ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤੇਲ, ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਫ਼ਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੇਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ। ਇੰਝ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

14 ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਥ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਨਗਰ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਅਮਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

15 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤੇਲ, ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਫ਼ਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੇਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ। ਇੰਝ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਆਉਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।
