55 ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਭੈਅ ਦੇਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲਿਆਥ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਤਦ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਅਬਨੇਰ, ਇਹ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਕਿਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ?” ਅਬਨੇਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸੌਂਹ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਇਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?”
56 ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਾ, ਜਾਕੇ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?”
57 ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਗੋਲਿਆਥ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਸੀ।
55 And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.
56 And the king said, Inquire thou whose son the stripling is.
57 And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

57 ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਗੋਲਿਆਥ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਬਨੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਸੀ।
And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.
