1 The sons of Judah: Pherez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੈ: ਪਰਸ, ਹਸਰੋਨ, ਕਰਮੀ, ਹੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ।

2 And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath; and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zoreathites.ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਆਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਰਆਯਾਹ ਯਹਥ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹਬ ਅਹੂਮਈ ਅਤੇ ਲਹਦ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ।

3 And these [were of] the father of Etam: Jizreel, and Jishma, and Jidbash; and the name of their sister was Hazlelponi;ਏਟਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਯਿਜ਼ਰੇਲ, ਯਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਦਬਾਸ਼। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਸੀ ਹੱਸਲਲਪੋਨੀ।

4 and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, [and] father of Bethlehem.ਫਨੂਏਲ ਗਦੋਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਏਜ਼ਰ ਹੂਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਹੂਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਹੂਰ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਥਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਥਾਹ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਸੀ।

5 -- And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.ਤਕੋਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ 2 ਬੀਵੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੀਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ ਹਲਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਨਅਰਾਹ।

6 And Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Ahashtari: these were the sons of Naarah.ਨਅਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅਹੁੱਜ਼ਾਮ, ਹੇਫ਼ਰ, ਤੇਮਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਅਹਸ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਜੰਮੇ ਜੋ ਨਅਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ।

7 And the sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.ਹਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ: ਸਰਥ, ਯਿਸਹਰ, ਅਥਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਸ।

8 And Koz begot Anub, and Hazzobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.ਕੋਸ ਤੋਂ ਆਨੂਬ, ਸੋਬੇਬਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ। ਕੋਸ ਅਹਰਹੇਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਹਰਹੇਲ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਾਰੁਮ ਸੀ।

9 And Jabez was more honoured than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with pain.ਯਅਬੇਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਯਅਬੇਸ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਰਦ ਸਹਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ।”

10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh that thou wouldest richly bless me, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God brought about what he had requested.ਯਅਬੇਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਵਰਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਾਉਂਦਾ। ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ।” ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇਨਤੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।

11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.ਕਲੂਬ ਸ਼ੂਹਾਹ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਕਲੂਬ ਮਹੀਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮਹੀਰ ਅਸ਼ਤੋਂਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ।

12 And Eshton begot Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the city of Nahash: these were the men of Rechah.ਅਸ਼ਤੋਨ ਬੈਤਰਾਫ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਪਾਸੇਅਹ, ਅਤੇ ਤਹਿੰਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਸੀ। ਤਹਿੰਨਾਹ, ਈਰ-ਨਾਹਾਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਏਹ ਰੇਕਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਨ।

13 -- And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and the sons of Othniel: Hathath.ਕਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੀ ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ। ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਹਥਥ ਅਤੇ ਮਓਨੋਥਈ।

14 And Meonothai begot Ophrah: and Seraiah begot Joab, the father of the valley of craftsmen; for they were craftsmen.ਮਓਨੋਥਈ ਆਫ਼ਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਯੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯੋਆਬ ਗੇ-ਹਰਾਸ਼ੀਮ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਸਨ।

15 -- And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah, ... and Kenaz.ਕਾਲੇਬ ਯਫ਼ੁੰਨਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਈਰੂ, ਏਲਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਨਅਮ। ਏਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਨਜ਼ ਸੀ।

16 -- And the sons of Jehalleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asareel.ਜ਼ੀਫ, ਜ਼ੀਫਾਹ, ਤੀਰਯਾ ਤੇ ਅਸਰੇਲ ਯਹੱਲਲੇਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ।

17 -- And the sons of Ezra: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she conceived [and bore] Miriam, and Shammai, and Jishbah the father of Eshtemoa.ਅਜ਼ਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਯਥਰ, ਮਰਦ, ਏਫਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਲੋਨ। ਮਰਦ ਮਿਰਯਮ, ਸ਼ੰਮਈ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸ਼ਬਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸ਼ਬਹ ਅਸ਼ਤਮੋਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮਰਦ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰਦ, ਹਬਰ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਨੋਅਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਗਦੋਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਯਰਦ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਹਬਰ ਸੋਕੋ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਯਕੂਥੀਏਲ ਜ਼ਨੋਅਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਬਿਥਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਦ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਸੀ।

18 And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh whom Mered took.

19 -- And the sons of the wife of Hodijah, the sister of Naham: the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.ਨਹਮ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਮਰਦ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ। ਮਰਦ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਈਲਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਮੋਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਨ। ਕਈਲਾਹ ਗਮੀਂ ਚੋ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਮੋਆ ਮਅਕਾਥੀ ਚੋ ਸੀ।

20 -- And the sons of Shimon: Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. -- And the sons of Jishi: Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.ਅਮਨੋਨ, ਰਿੰਨਾਹ, ਬਨ-ਹਾਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਲੋਨ ਸ਼ੀਮੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸ਼ਈ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ੋਹੇਥ ਅਤੇ ਬਨ-ਜ਼ੋਹੇਥ ਸਨ।

21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lechah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of byssus-workers, of the house of Ashbea,ਸ਼ੇਲਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਲਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਏਰ, ਲਅਦਾਹ, ਯੋਕੀਮ, ਕੋਜ਼ੇਬਾ ਦੇ ਆਦਮੀ, ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਫ਼ ਸਨ। ਏਰ ਲੇਕਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਲਅਦਾਰ ਮਾਰੇਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ-ਅਸ਼ਬੇਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਿਨਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯੋਆਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਫ ਨੇ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਏ। ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਪਰਤ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

22 and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things.

23 These were the potters, and those that abode among plantations and enclosures: there they dwelt with the king for his work.ਸ਼ੇਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਘੁਮਿਆਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਨਟਾਈਮ ਅਤੇ ਗਦੇਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, [and] Saul;ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ: ਨਮੂਏਲ, ਯਾਮੀਨ, ਯਰੀਬ, ਜ਼ਰਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਸਨ।

25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਸ਼ੱਲੁਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਿਬਸਾਮ ਤੇ ਮਿਬਸਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਿਸ਼ਮਾ।

26 And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son;ਮਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੰਮੂਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ੱਕੂਰ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੱਕੂਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਸ਼ਿਮਈ।

27 and Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. And his brethren had not many sons; neither did all their family multiply like to the sons of Judah.ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ 16 ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ 6 ਧੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।

28 And they abode at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shual,ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਬਏਰਸ਼ਬਾ, ਮੋਲਾਦਾਹ, ਹਸਰ-ਸ਼ੂਆਲ

29 and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,ਬਿਲਹਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਸਮ, ਤੋਲਾਦ,

30 and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,ਬਥੂਏਲ, ਹਾਰਮਾਹ, ਸਿਕਲਗ,

31 and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.ਬੈਤ-ਮਰਕਾਬੋਥ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਸਰ ਸੂਸੀਮ, ਬੈਤ-ਬਿਰਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਅਰਇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਹ ਤੀਕ ਰਹੇ।

32 And their villages were Etam and Ain, Rimmon and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਨ: ਏਟਾਮ, ਆਯਿਨ, ਰਿੰਮੋਨ, ਤੋਂਕਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਸ਼ਾਨ।

33 and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These were their habitations and their genealogical register.ਇਸ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਅਲ ਤੀਕ ਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ।

34 And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ, ਇਉਂ ਸੀ: ਮਸ਼ੋਬਾਬ, ਯਮਲੇਕ, ਅਮਸਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਸ਼ਾਹ, ਯੋਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਸ਼ਿਬਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੇਹੂ, ਸ਼ਿਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਸ਼ਿਬਯਾਹ, ਅਸੀਏਲ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਿਰਾਹ, ਅਲਯੋਇਨਈ, ਯਅਕੇਬਾਹ, ਯਸੋਹਾਯਾਹ, ਅਸਾਯਾਹ, ਅਦੀਏਲ, ਯਿਸੀਮਿਏਲ, ਬਨਾਯਾਹ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਫ਼ਈ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜ਼ੀਜ਼ਾ। ਸ਼ਿਫ਼ਈ ਅੱਲੋਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਲੋਨ ਯਦਾਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਯਦਾਯਾਹ ਸ਼ਿਮਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਮਰੀ ਸ਼ਮਅਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ।

35 and Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah:

38 these mentioned by name were princes in their families; and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 And they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਗਦੋਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਚਾਰਾਂਦਾ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ।

40 And they found fat and good pasture, and a land widely extended and quiet and fertile, for they who had dwelt there formerly were of Ham.ਉੱਥੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੂਬ ਚਰਾਂਦਾ ਵੀ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ-ਧਰਤੀ ਬੜੀ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤਮਈ ਤੇ ਅਮਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ। ਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੁੱਢੋਂ ਹੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ।

41 And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their stead; for there was pasture there for their flocks.ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਗਦੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਊਨੀਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅੱਜ ਤਾਈਂ, ਓੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਊਨੀਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਚਰਾਂਦਾਂ ਸਨ।

42 And five hundred men of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to mount Seir, having at their head Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Jishi,ਸ਼ਿਮਾਓਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 500 ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਯਸ਼ਈ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਨ: ਪਲਟਯਾਹ, ਨਅਰਯਾਹ, ਰਫ਼ਾਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਜ਼ੀਏਲ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਓਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੱਧ ਲੜੇ।

43 and they smote the rest of the Amalekites that had escaped; and they dwelt there unto this day.ਉੱਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਥੋੜੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਮਾਓਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੀਕ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਿਮਾਓਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਸੇਈਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
