ਕਨਨਯਾਹ ਯਿਸਹਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ। ਕਨਨਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ।
