ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਤਦ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸੱਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਏ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਪਰ ਇੰਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੱਲ ਲਾਹਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਘੱਟ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਦ ਤੀਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਨਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ, ਲੇਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਸਗੋਂ ਲੇਵੀ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੋਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
