Proverbs 25:1-27 in Tamil in Tamil

1 யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவின் மனுஷர் பேர்த்தெழுதின சாலொமோனுடைய நீதிமொழிகள்: These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.

2 காரியத்தை மறைப்பது தேவனுக்கு மேன்மை; காரியத்தை ஆராய்வதோ ராஜாக்களுக்கு மேன்மை. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

3 வானத்தின் உயரமும், பூமியின் ஆழமும், ராஜாக்களின் இருதயங்களும் ஆராய்ந்துமுடியாது. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

4 வெள்ளியினின்று களிம்பை நீக்கிவிடு, அப்பொழுது தட்டானால் நல்ல உடைமை பிறக்கும். Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

5 ராஜாவின் முன்னின்று துஷ்டரை நீக்கிவிடு, அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய சிங்காசனம் நீதியினால் நிலைநிற்கும். Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

6 ராஜாவின் சமுகத்தில் மேன்மைபாராட்டாதே; பெரியோர்களுடைய ஸ்தானத்தில் நில்லாதே. Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men:

7 உன் கண்கள் கண்ட பிரபுவின் சமுகத்தில் நீ தாழ்த்தப்படுவது நல்லதல்ல; அவன் உன்னைப் பார்த்து: மேலே வா என்று சொல்வதே உனக்கு மேன்மை. For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.

8 வழக்காடப் பதற்றமாய்ப் போகாதே; முடிவிலே உன் அயலான் உன்னை வெட்கப்படுத்தும்போது, நீ என்ன செய்யலாம் என்று திகைப்பாயே. Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.

9 நீ உன் அயலானுடனே மாத்திரம் உன் வியாஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்து வழக்காடு, மற்றவனிடத்தில் இரகசியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தாதே. Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another:

10 மற்றப்படி அதைக் கேட்கிறவன் உன்னை நிந்திப்பான்; உன் அவமானம் உன்னைவிட்டு நீங்காது. Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

11 ஏற்ற சமயத்தில் சொன்ன வார்த்தை வெள்ளித்தட்டில் வைக்கப்பட்ட பொற்பழங்களுக்குச் சமானம். A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

12 கேட்கிற செவிக்கு, ஞானமாய்க் கடிந்துகொண்டு புத்திசொல்லுகிறவன், பொற்கடுக்கனுக்கும் அபரஞ்சிப் பூஷணத்திற்கும் சரி. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

13 கோடைகாலத்தில் உறைந்தமழையின் குளிர்ச்சி எப்படியிருக்கிறதோ, அப்படியே உண்மையான ஸ்தானாபதியும் தன்னை அனுப்பினவனுக்கு இருப்பான்; அவன் தன் எஜமான்களுடைய ஆத்துமாவைக் குளிரப்பண்ணுவான். As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

14 கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொல்லியும் கொடாமலிருக்கிற வஞ்சகன் மழையில்லாத மேகங்களுக்கும் காற்றுக்கும் சரி. Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

15 நீண்ட பொறுமையினால் பிரபுவையும் சம்மதிக்கப்பண்ணலாம்; இனிய நாவு எலும்பையும் நொறுக்கும். By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

16 தேனைக் கண்டுபிடித்தாயானால் மட்டாய்ச் சாப்பிடு; மிதமிஞ்சிச் சாப்பிட்டால் வாந்திபண்ணுவாய். Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

17 உன் அயலான் சலித்து உன்னை வெறுக்காதபடிக்கு, அடிக்கடி அவன் வீட்டில் கால் வைக்காதே. Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

18 பிறனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லுகிற மனுஷன் தண்டாயுதத்துக்கும் கட்கத்துக்கும் கூர்மையான அம்புக்கும் ஒப்பானவன். A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

19 ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் துரோகியை நம்புவது உடைந்த பல்லுக்கும் மொழிபுரண்ட காலுக்கும் சமானம். Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

20 மனதுக்கமுள்ளவனுக்குப் பாட்டுகளைப் பாடுகிறவன், குளிர்காலத்தில் வஸ்திரத்தைக் களைகிறவனைப்போலவும், வெடியுப்பின்மேல் வார்த்த காடியைப்போலவும் இருப்பான். As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart.

21 உன் சத்துரு பசியாயிருந்தால், அவனுக்குப் புசிக்க ஆகாரங்கொடு; அவன் தாகமாயிருந்தால், குடிக்கத் தண்ணீர்கொடு. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

22 அதினால் நீ அவன் தலையின்மேல் எரிகிற தழல்களைக் குவிப்பாய்; கர்த்தர் உனக்குப் பலனளிப்பார். For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

23 வடகாற்று மழையையும், புறங்கூறுகிற நாவு கோபமுகத்தையும் பிறப்பிக்கும். The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

24 சண்டைக்காரியோடே ஒரு பெரிய வீட்டில் குடியிருப்பதைப்பார்க்கிலும் வீட்டின்மேல் ஒரு மூலையில் தங்குவதே நலம். It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.

25 தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து வரும் நற்செய்தி விடாய்த்த ஆத்துமாவுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் குளிர்ந்த தண்ணீருக்குச் சமானம். As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

26 துன்மார்க்கருக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமான் தள்ளாடுவது கலங்கின கிணற்றுக்கும் கெட்டுப்போன சுனைக்கும் ஒப்பாகும். A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

27 தேனை மிகுதியாய் உண்பது நல்லதல்ல, தற்புகழை நாடுவதும் புகழல்ல. It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.

2 Kaariyaththai maraippathu thaevanukku maenmai; kaariyaththai aaraayvatho raajaakkalukku maenmai. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

3 Vaanaththin uyaramum, poomiyin aalamum, raajaakkalin iruthayangalum aaraaynthumutiyaathu. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

4 Velliyinintu kalimpai neekkividu, appoluthu thattanaal nalla utaimai pirakkum. Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

5 Raajaavin munnintu thushdarai neekkividu, appoluthu avanutaiya singaasanam neethiyinaal nilainirkum. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

6 Raajaavin samukaththil maenmaipaaraattathae; periyorkalutaiya sthaanaththil nillaathae. Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men:

7 Un kannkal kannda pirapuvin samukaththil nee thaalththappaduvathu nallathalla; avan unnaip paarththu: maelae vaa entu solvathae unakku maenmai. 8 Valakkaadap pathattamaayp pokaathae; mutivilae un ayalaan unnai vetkappaduththumpothu, nee enna seyyalaam entu thikaippaayae. Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.

10 Mattappati athaik kaetkiravan unnai ninthippaan; un avamaanam unnaivittu neengaathu. Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

11 Aetta samayaththil sonna vaarththai velliththattil vaikkappatta porpalangalukkuch samaanam. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

12 Kaetkira sevikku, njaanamaayk katinthukonndu puththisollukiravan, porkadukkanukkum aparanjip pooshanaththirkum sari. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

13 Kotaikaalaththil urainthamalaiyin kulirchchi eppatiyirukkiratho, appatiyae unnmaiyaana sthaanaapathiyum thannai anuppinavanukku iruppaan; avan than ejamaankalutaiya aaththumaavaik kulirappannnuvaan. 14 Koduppaen entu solliyum kodaamalirukkira vanjakan malaiyillaatha maekangalukkum kaattaுkkum sari. Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

15 Neennda poraுmaiyinaal pirapuvaiyum sammathikkappannnalaam; iniya naavu elumpaiyum noraுkkum. By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

16 Thaenaik kanndupitiththaayaanaal mattaych saappidu; mithaminjich saappittal vaanthipannnuvaay. Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

17 Un ayalaan saliththu unnai veraுkkaathapatikku, atikkati avan veettil kaal vaikkaathae. Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

18 Piranukku virothamaayp poychchaாtchi sollukira manushan thanndaayuthaththukkum katkaththukkum koormaiyaana ampukkum oppaanavan. A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

25 Thoorathaesaththilirunthu varum narseythi vidaayththa aaththumaavukkuk kitaikkum kulirntha thannnneerukkuch samaanam. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

26 Thunmaarkkarukku munpaaka neethimaan thallaaduvathu kalangina kinattaுkkum kettuppona sunaikkum oppaakum. A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

27 Thaenai mikuthiyaay unnpathu nallathalla, tharpukalai naaduvathum pukalalla. It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.
