Proverbs 24 in Tamil

1 பொல்லாத மனுஷர்மேல் பொறாமைகொள்ளாதே; அவர்களோடே இருக்கவும் விரும்பாதே. Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 அவர்கள் இருதயம் கொடுமையை யோசிக்கும், அவர்கள் உதடுகள் தீவினையைப் பேசும். For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 வீடு ஞானத்தினாலே கட்டப்பட்டு, விவேகத்தினாலே நிலைநிறுத்தப்படும். Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 அறிவினாலே அறைகளில் அருமையும் இனிமையுமான சகல விதைப்பொருள்களும் நிறைந்திருக்கும். And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 ஞானமுள்ளவன் பெலமுள்ளவன்; அறிவுள்ளவன் தன் வல்லமையை அதிகரிக்கப்பண்ணுகிறான். A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 நல்யோசனை செய்து யுத்தம்பண்ணு; ஆலோசனைக்காரர் அநேகரால் ஜெயங்கிடைக்கும். For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

7 மூடனுக்கு ஞானம் எட்டாத உயரமாயிருக்கும்; அவன் நியாயஸ்தலத்தில் தன் வாயைத் திறவான். Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 தீவினைசெய்ய உபாயஞ்செய்கிறவன் துஷ்டன் என்னப்படுவான். He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 தீயநோக்கம் பாவமாம்; பரியாசக்காரன் மனுஷருக்கு அருவருப்பானவன். The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் நீ சோர்ந்துபோவாயானால் உன் பெலன் குறுகினது. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 மரணத்துக்கு ஒப்பிக்கப்பட்டவர்களையும், கொலையுண்ணப்போகிறவர்களையும் விடுவிக்கக்கூடுமானால் விடுவி. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 அதை அறியோம் என்பாயாகில், இருதயங்களைச் சோதிக்கிறவர் அறியாரோ? உன் ஆத்துமாவைக் காக்கிறவர் கவனியாரோ? அவர் மனுஷருக்கு அவனவன் கிரியைக்குத்தக்கதாகப் பலனளியாரோ? If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 என் மՠΩே, தேனைச் சாப்பிΟு, அது நல்லது; கூட͠Οிலிருந்து ஒழுகும் தேன் உன் வாய்க்கு இன்பமாயிருக்கும். My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 அப்படியே ஞானத்தை அறிந்துகொள்வது உன் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு இன்பமாயிருக்கும்; அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டால், அது முடிவில் உதவும், உன் நம்பிக்கை வீண்போகாது. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 துஷ்டனே, நீ நீதிமானுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்துக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பதிவிராதே; அவன் தங்கும் இடத்தைப் பாழாக்கிப்போடாதே. Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 நீதிமான் ஏழுதரம் விழுந்தாலும் திரும்பவும் எழுந்திருப்பான்; துன்மார்க்கரோ தீங்கிலே இடறுண்டு கிடப்பார்கள். For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 உன் சத்துரு விழும்போது சந்தோஷப்படாதே; அவன் இடறும்போது உன் இருதயம் களிகூராதிருப்பதாக. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 கர்த்தர் அதைக் காண்பார், அது அவர் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பாயிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அவனிடத்தினின்று அவர் தமது கோபத்தை நீக்கிவிடுவார். Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 பொல்லாதவர்களைக் குறித்து எரிச்சலாகாதே; துன்மார்க்கர்மேல் பொறாமை கொள்ளாதே. Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

20 துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு நல்முடிவு இல்லை; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய விளக்கு அணைந்துபோம். For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

21 என் மகனே, நீ கர்த்தருக்கும் ராஜாவுக்கும் பயந்து நட; கலகக்காரரோடு கலவாதே. My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

22 சடிதியில் அவர்களுடைய ஆபத்து எழும்பும்; அவர்கள் இருவரின் சங்காரத்தையும் அறிந்தவன் யார்? For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

23 பின்னும் ஞானமுள்ளவர்களின் புத்திமதிகள் என்னவெனில்: நியாயத்திலே முகதாட்சிணியம் நல்லதல்ல. These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 துன்மார்க்கனைப் பார்த்து: நீதிமானாயிருக்கிறாய் என்று சொல்லுகிறவனை ஜனங்கள் சபிப்பார்கள், பிரஜைகள் அவனை வெறுப்பார்கள். He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 அவனைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமுண்டாகும், அவர்களுக்கு உத்தம ஆசீர்வாதம் கிடைக்கும். But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

26 செம்மையான மறுமொழி சொல்லுகிறவன் உதடுகளை முத்தமிடுகிறவனுக்குச் சமானம். Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

27 வெளியில் உன் வேலையை எத்தனப்படுத்தி, வயலில் அதை ஒழுங்காக்கி, பின்பு உன் வீட்டைக் கட்டு. Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

28 நியாயமின்றிப் பிறனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சாட்சியாக ஏற்படாதே; உன் உதடுகளினால் வஞ்சகம் பேசாதே. Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 அவன் எனக்குச் செய்த பிரகாரம் நானும் அவனுக்குச் செய்வேன், அவன் செய்கைக்குத்தக்கதாக நானும் அவனுக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுவேன் என்று நீ சொல்லாதே. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

30 சோம்பேறியின் வயலையும், மதியீனனுடைய திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தையும் கடந்துபோனேன். I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 இதோ, அதெல்லாம் முள்ளுக்காடாயிருந்தது; நிலத்தின் முகத்தைக் காஞ்சொறி மூடினது; அதின் கற்சுவர் இடிந்து கிடந்தது. And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

32 அதைக் கண்டு சிந்தனைபண்ணினேன்; அதை நோக்கிப் புத்தியடைந்தேன். Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

33 இன்னுங்கொஞ்சம் உறங்கட்டும், இன்னுங்கொஞ்சம் கைமுடக்கிக்கொண்டு நித்திரை செய்யட்டும் என்பாயோ? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

34 உன் தரித்திரம் வழிப்போக்கனைப்போலும், உன் வறுமை ஆயுதமணிந்தவனைப்போலும் வரும். So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

1 Pollaatha manusharmael poraamaikollaathae; avarkalotae irukkavum virumpaathae. Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 Avarkal iruthayam kodumaiyai yosikkum, avarkal uthadukal theevinaiyaip paesum. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 Veedu njaanaththinaalae kattappattu, vivaekaththinaalae nilainiraுththappadum. Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 Arivinaalae araikalil arumaiyum inimaiyumaana sakala vithaipporulkalum nirainthirukkum. And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 Njaanamullavan pelamullavan; arivullavan than vallamaiyai athikarikkappannnukiraan. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 Nalyosanai seythu yuththampannnu; aalosanaikkaarar anaekaraal jeyangitaikkum. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

7 Moodanukku njaanam ettatha uyaramaayirukkum; avan niyaayasthalaththil than vaayaith thiravaan. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 Theevinaiseyya upaayanjaெykiravan thushdan ennappaduvaan. He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 TheeyaNnokkam paavamaam; pariyaasakkaaran manusharukku aruvaruppaanavan. The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 Aapaththukkaalaththil nee sornthupovaayaanaal un pelan kuraுkinathu. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 Maranaththukku oppikkappattavarkalaiyum, kolaiyunnnappokiravarkalaiyum viduvikkakkoodumaanaal viduvi. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 Athai ariyom enpaayaakil, iruthayangalaich sothikkiravar ariyaaro? Un aaththumaavaik kaakkiravar kavaniyaaro? Avar manusharukku avanavan kiriyaikkuththakkathaakap palanaliyaaro? If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 En maՠΩே, thaenaich saappiΟு, athu nallathu; kooda͠Οிlirunthu olukum thaen un vaaykku inpamaayirukkum. My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 Appatiyae njaanaththai arinthukolvathu un aaththumaavukku inpamaayirukkum; athaip pettaுkkonndaal, athu mutivil uthavum, un nampikkai veennpokaathu. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 Thushdanae, nee neethimaanutaiya vaasasthalaththukku virothamaayp pathiviraathae; avan thangum idaththaip paalaakkippodaathae. Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 Neethimaan aelutharam vilunthaalum thirumpavum elunthiruppaan; thunmaarkkaro theengilae idaraுnndu kidappaarkal. For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 Un saththuru vilumpothu santhoshappadaathae; avan idaraுmpothu un iruthayam kalikooraathiruppathaaka. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 Karththar athaik kaannpaar, athu avar paarvaikkup pollaappaayirukkum; appoluthu avanidaththinintu avar thamathu kopaththai neekkividuvaar. Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 Pollaathavarkalaik kuriththu erichchalaakaathae; thunmaarkkarmael poraamai kollaathae. Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

20 Thunmaarkkanukku nalmutivu illai; thunmaarkkanutaiya vilakku annainthupom. For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

21 En makanae, nee karththarukkum raajaavukkum payanthu nada; kalakakkaararodu kalavaathae. My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

22 Satithiyil avarkalutaiya aapaththu elumpum; avarkal iruvarin sangaaraththaiyum arinthavan yaar? For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

23 Pinnum njaanamullavarkalin puththimathikal ennavenil: niyaayaththilae mukathaatchinniyam nallathalla. These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 Thunmaarkkanaip paarththu: neethimaanaayirukkiraay entu sollukiravanai janangal sapippaarkal, pirajaikal avanai veraுppaarkal. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 Avanaik katinthukollukiravarkalmael piriyamunndaakum, avarkalukku uththama aaseervaatham kitaikkum. But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

26 Semmaiyaana maraுmoli sollukiravan uthadukalai muththamidukiravanukkuch samaanam. Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

27 Veliyil un vaelaiyai eththanappaduththi, vayalil athai olungaakki, pinpu un veettaைk kattu. Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

28 Niyaayamintip piranukku virothamaaych saatchiyaaka aerpadaathae; un uthadukalinaal vanjakam paesaathae. Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 Avan enakkuch seytha pirakaaram naanum avanukkuch seyvaen, avan seykaikkuththakkathaaka naanum avanukkuch sarikkattuvaen entu nee sollaathae. Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

30 Sompaeriyin vayalaiyum, mathiyeenanutaiya thiraatchaththottaththaiyum kadanthuponaen. I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 Itho, athellaam mullukkaadaayirunthathu; nilaththin mukaththaik kaanjaொri mootinathu; athin karsuvar itinthu kidanthathu. And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

32 Athaik kanndu sinthanaipannnninaen; athai Nnokkip puththiyatainthaen. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

33 Innungaொnjam urangattum, innungaொnjam kaimudakkikkonndu niththirai seyyattum enpaayo? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

34 Un thariththiram valippokkanaippolum, un varaுmai aayuthamanninthavanaippolum varum. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
