Jeremiah 26:11
ତା'ପ ରେ ଯାଜକମାନେ ଓ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦବକ୍ତାମାନେ ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲେ, ଯିରିମିୟ ପ୍ରାଣଦଣ୍ଡର ଯୋଗ୍ଯ ; କାରଣ ସେ ଏହି ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦବାକ୍ଯ ପ୍ରଚାର କରିଅଛି, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସ୍ବକର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରେ ଶୁଣିଅଛ।

ତେଣୁ ସହେି ଅଧିପତିଗଣ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କରୁଅଛୁ, ଏହି ଯିରିମିୟକୁ ମୃତ୍ଯୁଦଣ୍ଡ ହେଉ। କାରଣ ସେ ଏହି ନଗରର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଯୋଦ୍ଧାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାର କଥା କହି ନିରୁତ୍ସାହିତ କରୁଅଛି। ପୁଣି ସେ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ଚାହୁଁ ନାହିଁ, ବରଂ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଚାହୁଁଛି।

କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଜଣେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ମାେ ନାମ ରେ କୌଣସି ଅନକ୍ସ୍ଟଚିତ୍ କଥା କ ହେ, ଯାହା ମୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିବା ପାଇଁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦଇନୋହିଁ। ସହେି ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାର ମୃତକ୍ସ୍ଟ୍ଯଦଣ୍ତ ପାଇବା ଉଚିତ୍। ଏବଂ ଯଦି କେତକେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଅନ୍ୟ ଦବଗେଣଙ୍କ ନାମ ରେ କହନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ସହେି ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ମୃତକ୍ସ୍ଟ୍ଯଦଣ୍ତ ପାଇବେ।

ପାଉଲ ଏକଥା କହିବା ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଶୁଣୁଥିଲେ। ତା'ପରେ ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତେ ମିଶି ଖୁବ୍ ଜାରେ ରେ ପାଟି କରି କହିଲେ, ଏ ଲୋକକୁ ପୃଥିବୀରୁ ଦୂର କର। କାରଣ ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଯୋଗ୍ଯ ନୁହଁ।

ୟିଦୂଦୀମାନେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଅନୁସାରେ ସେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁଦଣ୍ଡ ପାଇବା ଉଚିତ କାରଣ ସେ ନିଜକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ବୋଲି କହିଅଛି।

ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମାରେ ବିନାଶ ପାଇଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଯୋଜନା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁଅଛ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଅଧର୍ମ କ୍ଷମା କର ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପାପ ଲୋପ କର ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବିନାଶ କର। ଆପଣା କୋରଧ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରତି ବ୍ଯବହାର କର।
