1 Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judges another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରି ପାରିବ ତା ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭୁଲ୍ କରୁଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିଜେ ମଧ୍ଯ ପାପର ଦୋଷୀ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟ ବିଚ଼ାର କରୁଛ, ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପରି ମନ୍ଦ କାମ କରୁଛ। ଅତଏବ ଯେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରୁଛ, ସେତବେେଳେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ଅପରାଧୀ ବୋଲି ନ୍ଯାୟ ବିଗ୍ଭର କରୁଛ।

2 And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.ପରମେଶ୍ବର, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଏପରିକି ମନ୍ଦକର୍ମ କରନ୍ତି ତାହାଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟ ବିଚ଼ାର କରନ୍ତି। ଏହା ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଜାଣୁ ଯେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟ ବିଚ଼ାର ଠିକ୍ ଅଟେ।

3 And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?ତୁମ୍ଭେଭୁଲକାମ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରୁଛ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜେ ମଧ୍ଯ ସହେି ଭଳି ଭୁଲକାମ କରୁଛ। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରିବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବିଚ଼ାରରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।

4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଅତି ଦୟାଳୁ। ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ର୍ଧୈୟ୍ଯବାନ। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଦଳି ଯାଅ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଦୟାଳୁତା ବିଷୟ ରେ ଆଦୌ ଭାବୁ ନାହଁ। ଏହା ହାଇେ ପା ରେ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମ୍ଭବତଃ ବୁଝିପାରୁ ନାହଁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ନିଜର ହୃଦୟ ଓ ଜୀବନ ବଦଳାଇବା ପାଇଁ ସୁଯୋଗ ଦବୋ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟାଳୁ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି।

5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କଠିନ ଓ ଅନୁତାପବିହୀନ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଦଳିବା ପାଇଁ ନାରାଜ। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜର ଦଣ୍ଡକୁ ଅଧିକରୁ ଅଧିକ ବଢ଼ାଉଛ। ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ନିଜର କୋରଧ ଦଖାଇବେେ, ସହେି ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସହେି ଦଣ୍ଡ ପାଇବ। ସହେି ଦିନ ଲୋକେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ଠିକ୍ ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର ଦେଖିବେ।

6 who will render to every man according to his works:ପରମେଶ୍ବର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଲୋକକୁ ନିଜ ନିଜର କର୍ମ ଅନୁସାରେ ପୁରସ୍କାର ବା ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବେେ।

7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:କେତକେ ଲୋକ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ମହିମା, ସମ୍ମାନ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଦବୋକୁ ଥିବା ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ପାଇଁ ବଞ୍ଚିନ୍ତି। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସର୍ବଦା ଭଲ କାମ କରି ର୍ଧୈୟ୍ଯପୂର୍ବକ ଏହି ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପାଇଁ ଜୀବନ ଧାରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିବେ।

8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, `shall be' wrath and indignation,କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସ୍ବାର୍ଥପର ଓ ସତ୍ଯକୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମନା କରନ୍ତି ଓ ମନ୍ଦ ମାର୍ଗ ଅବଲମ୍ବନ କରନ୍ତି, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦବେେ।

9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;ମନ୍ଦକାମ କରୁଥିବା ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଲୋକକୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଦୁଃଖ ଓ ସଂକଟ ରେ ପକାଇବେ। ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଥମେ, ପରେ ଅଣଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ।

10 but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର, ଭଲ କାମ କରୁଥିବା ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଲୋକକୁ ଗୌରବ, ସମ୍ମାନ ଓ ଶାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିବେ। ପ୍ରଥମେ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ପରେ ଅଣଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ।

11 for there is no respect of persons with God.ପରମେଶ୍ବର ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସମାନ ଭାବରେ ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରନ୍ତି।

12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଜାଣିଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ବିଷୟ ରେ ଶୁଣି ନାହାଁନ୍ତି, ପାପ କର୍ମ କଲା ବେଳେ ସମସ୍ତେ ସମାନ। ଲୋକେ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଜାଣି ନାହାଁନ୍ତି ଓ ପାପ କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେ ଯିବେ ଓ ସହେି ପରି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଜାଣିଛନ୍ତି ଓ ପାପ କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଅନୁସାରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର ହବେ।

13 for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥାକୁ କବଳେ ଶୁଣିଥିଲେ କହେି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଧାର୍ମିକ ହାଇେ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥାକୁ ସମଗ୍ର ଭାବରେ ପାଳନ କଲେ ହିଁ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଧାର୍ମିକ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରମାଣିତ କରେ।

14 (for when Gentiles that have not the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are the law unto themselves;ଅଣ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେତବେେଳେ ସମାନେେ ସ୍ବାଭାବିକ ଭାବରେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଅନୁଯାଯୀ ନଜାଣି ମଧ୍ଯ କାମ କରନ୍ତି, ସେତବେେଳେ ସଗେୁଡ଼ିକ ହିଁ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ହାଇଯୋଏ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ନଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଏହା ସତ୍ଯ।

15 in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing `them');ସମାନେେ ହୃଦୟ ରେ ଜାଣି ପାରନ୍ତି ଯେ କଣ ଠିକ୍ ଓ କଣ ଭୁଲ୍। ଯାହା ଠିକ୍ ତାହା ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଚ଼ା ହେଁ। ସମାନେେ ଠିକ୍ ଓ ଭୁଲ୍ ବିଷୟ ରେ ଯାହା ଅନୁଭବ କରନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଦଖାଇେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଦିଅନ୍ତି। େ ବେଳବେଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ବିଚ଼ାର ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କୁ ହେ ଯେ, ସମାନେେ ମନ୍ଦ କାମ କଲେ, ସମାନେେ ଦୋଷୀ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଓ େ ବେଳବେଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବିଗ୍ଭର ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କୁ ହେ ଯେ, ସମାନେେ ଉତ୍ତମ କାମ କଲେ, ସମାନେେ ନିଜକୁ ଦୋଷୀ ବିବଚେିତ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।

16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my gospel, by Jesus Christ.ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତ ରେ ଥିବା ଗୁପ୍ତକଥା ଗୁଡ଼ିକର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରିବେ ସହେି ଦିନ ଏହି କଥା ଘଟିବ। ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ସୁସମାଚ଼ାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛି, ତାହା କୁ ହେ ଯେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ୟିଶୁଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ନ୍ଯାୟବିଚ଼ାର କରିବେ।

17 But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God,ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟ ରେ କଣ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହୁଛ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜଣେ ଯିହୂଦୀ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଉପରେ ଭରସା ଅଛି ଓ ଗର୍ବ କର ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଅଛ।

18 and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଣ କରିବ ବୋଲି ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଚ଼ାହାଁନ୍ତି। ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିଛ ଯେ କେଉଁ ବିଷୟଗୁଡ଼ିକ ମହତ୍ତ୍ବପୁର୍ଣ୍ଣ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଶିଖିଛ।

19 and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ସତ୍ଯ ମାର୍ଗ ବିଷୟ ରେ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ମାର୍ଗ ଦର୍ଶକ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆଲୁଅ ସଦୃଶ।

20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମୁର୍ଖ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସତ୍ଯ ଦଖାଇେ ପାରିବ। ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ଏବେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଶିଖିବା ଆବଶ୍ଯକ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶିକ୍ଷକ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖ ରେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଅଛି, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସବୁ କିଛି ଜାଣିଛ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖ ରେ ସତ୍ଯ ଅଛି।

21 thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଛ। ସେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜକୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା କାହିଁକି ଦେଉନାହଁ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛ ଚେ଼ାରୀକରନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜେ ଚେ଼ାରୀ କରୁଛ।

22 thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?ତୁମ୍ଭେ କହୁଛ ଲୋକେ ବ୍ଯଭିଚ଼ାର ପାପ କରିବା କଥା ନୁହେଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜେ ସହେି ପାପରେ ଦୋଷୀ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିକୁ ଘୃଣା କରିଥାଅ।

23 thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God?କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନ୍ଦିରରୁ ଚେ଼ାରୀ କରୁଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ପାଇଁ ଗର୍ବ କରୁଛ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସହେି ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଭଙ୍ଗ କରି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଲଜ୍ଜା ଦେଉଛ।

24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.ପବିତ୍ର-ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ରେ ଲଖାେ ଅଛି, ଅଣ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ରେ ମନ୍ଦ କଥା, ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ହିଁ କୁହନ୍ତି।

25 For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision.ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ପାଳନ କରୁଛ, ତା ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସୁନ୍ନତ ହବୋର ମୂଲ୍ଯ ଅଛି। କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଭଙ୍ଗ କରୁଛ ତା ହେଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସୁନ୍ନତ ନ ହବୋ ସହିତ ସମାନ।

26 If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision?ଅଣ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ସୁନ୍ନତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ଯଦି ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା କହିବା ଭଳି ଆଚ଼ରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ତା ହେଲେ ସମାନେେ ସୁନ୍ନତ ହବୋ ଭଳି ହେଲେ।

27 and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law?ତୁମ୍ଭ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ଲିଖିତ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଅଛି ଓ ସୁନ୍ନତ ମଧ୍ଯ, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଭଙ୍ଗ କରୁଛ। ଅତଏବ ଶାରୀରିକ ଭାବେ ସୁନ୍ନତ ନ ହାଇେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ପାଳନ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକେ ଦଖାଇେ ଦବେେ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦୋଷୀ ଅଟ।

28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh:ଜଣେ କବଳେ ଶରୀର ରେ ଯିହୂଦୀ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ଯିହୂଦୀ ନୁହେଁ। ପ୍ରକୃତ ସୁନ୍ନତ କବଳେ ବାହାର ଶରୀର ରେ ନୁହେଁ।

29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ଯଦି ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ଯିହୂଦୀ ସେ ଅନ୍ତରରୁ ଯିହୂଦୀ ଅଟେ। ପ୍ରକୃତ ସୁନ୍ନତ ହୃଦୟ ରେ ହିଁ କରା ଯାଇଥାଏ। ଏହା ଆତ୍ମା ଦ୍ବାରା କରାଯାଇ ଥାଏ। ଆକ୍ଷରିକ ଭାବରେ ନୁହେଁ। ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ହୃଦୟ ରେ ଆତ୍ମା ଦ୍ବାରା ସୁନ୍ନତ ହାଇେଥାଏ ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ପ୍ରଶଂସା ପାଏ, ମଣିଷମାନଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ନୁହେଁ।
