ସହେି ଦିନଟି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ଦିବସ ଥିଲା, ସହେି ଶୁକ୍ରବାରର ପରଦିନ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଯାଜକ ଓ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କୁ ଭଟେିଲେ।

ସଦେିନ ନିସ୍ତାରପର୍ବର ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ଦିନ ଥିଲା। ତହିଁ ଆରଦିନ ବିଶଷେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଥିଲା। ତେଣୁ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଚାହୁଁ ନଥିଲେ ଯେ, ମୃତ ଶରୀରଗୁଡିକ କୃଶ ଉପରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଝୁଲି ରହୁ। ତେଣୁ ସମାନେେ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କଲେ ଯେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଗୋଡ ଭାଙ୍ଗିଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ। ଯେପରି ସମାନେେ ଶ୍ରୀଘ୍ର ମରିଯିବେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଦହେ କୃଶରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇବା ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁମତି ମାଗିଲେ।
