ଏସବୁ ଘଟିଲା ପ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯିହୁଦା ରାଜା ସିଦିକିଯଙ୍କୁ, ତାହାର ଦାସଗଣଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମହାମାରୀ, ଖଡ୍ଗ ଓ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷରୁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିବେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସରଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପ୍ରାଣନାଶକାରୀଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା। ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦୟା, କରୁଣା ଓ କ୍ଷମା ନ କରି ଖଡ୍ଗ ରେ ବଧ କରିବେ।'

ତହୁଁ କଲଦୀଯ ସୈନ୍ଯମାନେ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ପଶ୍ଚାତଧାବନ କରି ଯିରୀହାେ ପଦା ରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଧରିଲେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ଯ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡି ପଳାଯନ କଲେ।

ମୁଁ ମାରଜୋଲ ବିଛାଇବି ଓ ତାକୁ ଫାଶ ରେ ପକାଇ ବାବିଲକୁ ନଇୟିବେି ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ସଠାେ ରେ ତା'ର ବିଚାର କରିବି। କାରଣ ସେ ମାେ ପ୍ରତି ଅବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ଥିଲା।

ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କୌଣସି ଦୟା ଦଖାଇବୋ ନାହିଁ କି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅନୁକମ୍ପା କରିବା ନାହିଁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ମନ୍ଦ କର୍ମ ୟୋଗୁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମଧିଅରେ ଥିବା ଘୃଣା ପ୍ରଥା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଦଣ୍ଡିତ କରିବା। ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଜାଣିବ ଯେ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ୟିଏ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆଘାତ କରିଛନ୍ତି।

ପୁଣି ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସନୋପତି ପ୍ରଧାନ ଯାଜକ ସରାଯକୁ ଓ ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ଯାଜକ ସଫନିଯକୁ ଏବଂ ଆଉ ତିନିଜଣ ଦ୍ବାରପାଳକୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ନଲୋ।

ଏଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭର କୋରଧଭାବ ଦଖାଇବୋ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅନୁକମ୍ପା କରିବା ନାହିଁ କି ଦୟା ଦଖାଇବୋ ନାହିଁ। ଏବଂ ଏପରିକି ଯଦି ସମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭ କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପାଖ ରେ ଉଚ୍ଚ ସ୍ବର ରେ ଡ଼ାକନ୍ତି, ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ କଥା ଶୁଣିବା ନାହିଁ।
ଦିତୀୟ ବଂଶାବଳୀ 36:17
ତେଣୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବାବିଲର ରାଜାକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। ୟୁବା ଲୋକମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିର ମଧିଅରେ ଥିଲେ ସୁଦ୍ଧା, ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ସେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କିଛି ଦୟା କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ଉଭୟ ୟୁବା ଓ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ସେ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ। ସେ ରୋଗୀ ଓ ସୁସ୍ଥ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସରଙ୍କୁ ବିଜଯୀ କଲେ।
