ଯିଶାଇୟ 28:1-8

1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.

5 In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.

7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.

1 ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଚାହଁ ! ଇଫ୍ରଯିମର ମତ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନେ ନିଜ ନଗରୀ ପାଇଁ ଗର୍ବିତ। କାରଣ ପର୍ବତ ଉପ ରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ଓ ଫଳଶାଳୀ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ସହେି ନଗରୀକୁ ଶମରିଯାମାନେ ରମଣୀଯ ପୁଷ୍କର ମୁକୁଟ' ସଦୃଶ, ମାତ୍ର ସହେି ଭୂଷଣ ସ୍ବରୂପ ସୁନ୍ଦର ପୁଷ୍ପ ମ୍ଲାନ ହବେ।

2 ଦେଖ, ମାରେ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ବଳବାନ୍ ଓ ସାହସୀ ଲୋକ ଅଛି। ସେ ଶିଳାୟୁକ୍ତ ଝଡ଼ ଓ ପ୍ରଳଯକାଳର ବର୍ଷା ବତାସ ପରି ଆସିବ, ଦ୍ରୁତ ଧାବିତ ବନ୍ଯାଜଳ ସଦୃଶ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହାଇେ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ତାକୁ ଭୂମିରେ ନିକ୍ଷପେ କରିବ।

3 ଇଫ୍ରଯିମର ମତ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦର୍ପସ୍ବରୂପ ମୁକୁଟ' ପଦ ତଳେ ଦଳିତ ହବେ।
The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

4 ପର୍ବତ ଉପରିସ୍ଥ ଫଳଶାଳୀ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ମୁକୁଟ ସଦୃଶ ସୁନ୍ଦର ଦେଶ ମ୍ଲାନ ପୁଷ୍ପ ପାଲଟିବ।' ସହେି ନଗର ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମକାଳର ପ୍ରଥମ ପକ୍ବ ଡ଼ିମିରି ଫଳ ସଦୃଶ ହବେ। ଯେକହେି ତାକୁ ଦେଖିବ ଶୀଘ୍ର ତାକୁ ତୋଳିବ ଓ ଗ୍ରାସ କରିବ।

5 ସଦେିନ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟାଂଶ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବହୁତ ସୁନ୍ଦର ମୁକୁଟ' ସଦୃଶ ହବେେ।
In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

6 ତା'ପ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ବିଚାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ବିଚାରକଙ୍କୁ ବିଚାର ଜନିତ ଆତ୍ମା ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ନଗରଦ୍ବାର ରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଫରୋଇ ଦିଅନ୍ତି ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ବଳସ୍ବରୂପ ହବେେ।

7 ମାତ୍ର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସହେି ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଗଣ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ରେ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସୁରାପାନ ରେ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି। ଯାଜକ ଓ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ସୁରାପାନ ଦ୍ବାରା ବିଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି। ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଗ୍ରାସ କରିଅଛି ଓ ସମାନେେ ସୁରାପାନ ଦ୍ବାରା ବିପଥରେ ୟାଇଛନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ଦର୍ଶନ ରେ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଓ ବିଚାର ରେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟି ପଡ଼ନ୍ତି।

8 ସମସ୍ତ ମଜେ ବାନ୍ତି ରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ। ସଠାେ ରେ ମଇଳା ପାଇଁ ୟଥେଷ୍ଟ କଠାେରୀ ନ ଥିଲା।
For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
