ଆଦି ପୁସ୍ତକ 49:3-4

3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

3 ହେ ମାରେ ପ୍ରଥମ ପୁତ୍ର ରୁବନ୍େ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ପ୍ରଥମଜାତ ପୁତ୍ର। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ବଳ ଓ ଶକ୍ତିର ପ୍ରଥମ ଫଳ ଏବଂ ପୁଣି ମାରେ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସବୁଠୁଁ ସମ୍ମାନିତ ଏବଂ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳି ଥିଲ।

4 କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଆବଗେ ବନ୍ଯା ତୁଲ୍ଯ ଥିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣ କରିପାରିଲ ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରଧାନତା ରହିବ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପିତୃଶୟ୍ଯାକୁ ଗମନ କଲ। ତବେେ ତାହା ଅଶୁଚି କଲ।
