Deuteronomy 18:1
ଲବେୀୟ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲଙ୍କଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ କୌଣସି ଅଂଶ କି ଅଧିକାର ପାଇବେ ନାହିଁ। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଯାଜକ ହବେେ, ସମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଅଗ୍ନିକୃତ ଉପହାର ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଅଧିକୃତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ଭୋଗ କରବେ।

କବଳେ ଲବେୀ ଏକ ବଂଶଧର ଯେ କି ଜମା ଭୂମି ପାଇନଥିଲେ। ଲବେୀୟମାନେ ଶସ୍ଯ ନବୈେଦ୍ଯ ଓ ହାମବେଳି ପାଇଲେ, ଯାହାକି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶଓରଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରାଯାଉଥିଲା। ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞାନକ୍ସ୍ଟସା ରେ ଥିଲା।

ସାବଧାନ ହବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣା ଭୂମିରେ ବାସ କରିବା ୟାଏ ଓ ବଞ୍ଚି ରହିଥିବା ୟାଏ ଲବେୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ତ୍ଯାଗ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଭୂମିରେ ତୁମର କୈଣସି ଅଧିକାର ରହିବ ନାହିଁ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧିଅରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କୌଣସି ଭାଗ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ। ମାତ୍ର ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ମୁଁ ହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭାଗ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଧିକାର।

ତା'ପରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ମାେତେ ଦିଆୟାଇଥିବା ଉପହାରର ଦାଯୀତ୍ବ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଲେି। ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବଂଶଧରମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ ଦେଉଥିବା ପବିତ୍ର ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଚିରସ୍ଥାଯୀ ଅଂଶ ହବେ।

ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କରେ ଯେ, ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଯେଉଁ ମଷଗେଣର ଦାଯିତ୍ବ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ରହିଛ, ସହେି ମଷେ ସମୂହର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯତ୍ନ ନବୋ ଉଚିତ। ସମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମଷେପଲ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାଧ୍ଯବାଧକତା ରେ ନୁହେଁ, ମାତ୍ର ସ୍ବଇଚ୍ଛା ରେ ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କର। ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତାହାହିଁ ଚାହାଁନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସବୋ କରିବା ରେ ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଉଛ ବୋଲି ସପରେି କର, ଧନ ଲୋଭ ରେ ତାହା କର ନାହିଁ।

ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କ'ଣ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ ଯେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମନ୍ଦିରର ସବେକ ସମାନେେ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଅଣାଯାଇଥିବା ବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗରୁ କିଛି ଆଣି ନିଜର ଜୀବିକା ନିର୍ବାହ କରନ୍ତି। ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବଦେୀର ସବୋ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ ସମାନେେ ବଦେୀକୁ ଅଣାଯାଇଥିବା ନବୈେଦ୍ଯରୁ କିଛି ଭାଗ ପାଆନ୍ତି।
ଯିହୋଶୂୟ 18:7
ଏଥି ରେ ଲବେୀୟମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ଅଂଶ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଭାଗଟି ହେଉଛି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଯାଜକ ରୂପେ ସବୋ କରିବା। ଏବଂ ଗାଦ୍, ରକ୍ସ୍ଟବନ୍େ, ମନଃଶିର ଓ ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧବଂଶ ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପୂର୍ବ ପାରି ରେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ଅଧିକାର ପାଇଅଛନ୍ତି। ଏହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସବେକ ମାଶାେ ୟିଏ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଏ ଭୂମି ଦେଲେ।
ଯିହୋଶୂୟ 13:33
ମାଶାେ ଲବେୀ ବଂଶଧରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଦୌ ଭୂମି ଦଇନେଥିଲେ। କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ଯେ ସେ ନିଜେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଉତ୍ତରାଧିକାରୀ।

ଲବେୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ସମୁଦାଯ ଏକ ମାସର ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ବଯଜେଷ୍ଠ ସଂଖ୍ଯା 23,000 ହେଲା। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକ ବୋଲି ଗଣନା କରାଗଲା ନାହିଁ କାରଣ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପରି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଭୂମି ଦିଆଗଲା ନାହିଁ।
