ଗଣକ, କଲଦୀଯ ଓ ଶୁଭାଶୁଭବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖକୁ ରାଜା ଡକାଇଲେ। ସେ ବାବିଲୋନୀଯ ବିଦ୍ବାନମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯେ କହେି ଏହି ଲଖାେ ପଢିପାରିବ ଓ ତାହାର ଅର୍ଥ ବାହାର କରିପାରିବ, ତାଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ ବାଇଗଣିଆ ରଙ୍ଗର ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଉପହାର ଦବେି ଓ ତାଙ୍କ କଣ୍ଠ ରେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣର ହାର ପିନ୍ଧାଇ ଦବେି। ଆଉ ସେ ରାଜ୍ଯର ତୃତୀୟ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ଶାସନ କର୍ତ୍ତା ହବେ।

ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଶୁଣୁଅଛି ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅର୍ଥ ପ୍ରକାଶ ଓ ସନ୍ଦହେ ଭଞ୍ଜନ କରିପାର। ଏତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ଏହି ଲଖାେ ପାଠ କରି ତହିଁର ଅର୍ଥ ମାେତେ ଜଣାଇ ପାର, ତବେେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବାଇଗଣିଆ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଉପହାର ଦବେି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ କଣ୍ଠ ରେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହାର ଲମ୍ବାଇବି। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ତୃତୀୟ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ଶାସନକର୍ତ୍ତା ହବେ।

ସହେି ରାଜା ତିନିଜଣ ତଦାରଖକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ସୁବଦୋର ଉପ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କଲେ, ଯେପରି ସମାନେେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଠକି ନପାରିବେ ଓ କ୍ଷତି ସହି ପାରିବେ। ଏହି ତିନିଜଣ ନିରୀକ୍ଷକ ମଧିଅରେ ଦାନିୟେଲ ଥିଲେ ଅନ୍ୟତମ।

ତା'ପ ରେ ରାଜା ଦାନିୟେଲଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ରେ ଏକ ମହାନ୍ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତି କଲେ ଓ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ଉପହାରମାନ ଦେଲେ। ଆଉ ବାବିଲ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଉପ ରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତ କତ୍ତୁର୍ତ୍ବ ପଦ ଦଇେ ବାବିଲସ୍ଥ ସବୁ ବିଦ୍ବାନ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉପ ରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଅଧିପତି କଲେ।

ଆଉ ଯବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସ୍ବପ୍ନ ଓ ତାହାର ଅର୍ଥ ପ୍ରକାଶ କର, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାଠାରୁେ ଉପହାର, ପୁରସ୍କାର ଓ ସମ୍ମାନ ପାଇବ। ଏଣୁ ସହେି ସ୍ବପ୍ନ ଓ ତାହାର ଅର୍ଥ ମାେତେ କୁହ।

ତେଣୁ ରାଜା ତାଙ୍କର ସ୍ବପ୍ନ ଜଣାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଗଣ, ଗଣକ, ମଯାବୀ ଓ କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଡାକିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଲେ। ଏଥି ରେ ସମାନେେ ଆସି ରାଜାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ।
ଦାନିଏଲ 4:14
ସେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ବର ରେ କହିଲେ, 'ଏହି ବୃକ୍ଷକୁ ଛଦନେ କର। ତହିଁରେ ଶାଖା ସବୁ କାଟି ପକାଅ, ତହିଁର ପତ୍ରସବୁ ଝାଡି ଦିଅ ଓ ଫଳଗୁଡିକୁ ବିଞ୍ଚି ଦିଅ। ତାହାର ତଳେଥିବା ପଶୁମାନେ ଓ ଶାଖା ରେ ଥିବା ପକ୍ଷୀମାନେ ପଳାଇ ୟାଆନ୍ତୁ।

ଏହାପରେ ପ୍ରଭାତ ରେ ତାଙ୍କର ମନ ଉତ୍ବିଗ୍ନ ହେଲା। ତେଣୁ ସେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ମିଶର ଦେଶୀଯ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ମନ୍ତ୍ରଜ୍ଞ ଓ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଡ଼କାଇଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ଫାରୋ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ନିକଟରେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ବପ୍ନର କଥା କୁହନ୍ତେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କହେି ତା'ର ଅର୍ଥ କହି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ।
