ସଦେିନ ନିସ୍ତାରପର୍ବ ସପ୍ତାହର ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ଦିନର ମଧ୍ଯାହ୍ନ ସମୟ ଥିଲା। ପୀଲାତ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖ।

ସଦେିନ ନିସ୍ତାରପର୍ବର ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ଦିନ ଥିଲା। ତହିଁ ଆରଦିନ ବିଶଷେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଥିଲା। ତେଣୁ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଚାହୁଁ ନଥିଲେ ଯେ, ମୃତ ଶରୀରଗୁଡିକ କୃଶ ଉପରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଝୁଲି ରହୁ। ତେଣୁ ସମାନେେ ପୀଲାତଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କଲେ ଯେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଗୋଡ ଭାଙ୍ଗିଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆଦେଶ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ। ଯେପରି ସମାନେେ ଶ୍ରୀଘ୍ର ମରିଯିବେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଦହେ କୃଶରୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇବା ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁମତି ମାଗିଲେ।

ପୀଲାତ ଗୋଟିଏ ସଙ୍କତେ ଲେଖି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ କୃଶ ରେ ଟଙ୍ଗଇେଲେ। ସେଥି ରେ ଲଖାେଥିଲା, ନାଜରିତୀୟ ଯୀଶୁ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କର ରାଜା।
John 19:3
ସୈନିକମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ବହୁତ ଥର ଆସିଲେ ଓ କହିଲେ, ହେ! ଯିହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜା। ସମାନେେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଚାପୁଡା ମାରିଲେ।
