Jeremiah 14:4
ଦେଶ ରେ ଅନାବୃଷ୍ଟି ହତେୁ ଭୂମି ଫାଟି ୟିବାରୁ କୃଷକମାନେ ବିବ୍ରତ ଓ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହାଇେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମସ୍ତକ ଢ଼ାଙ୍କିଛନ୍ତି।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା କୋର୍ଧ ଓ କୋପରେ ଯେଉଁ ସଦୋମ ଓ ହ ମାରୋ, ଅଦ୍ମା ଓ ସବୋଯିମ ନଗରମାନ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କରିଥିଲେ, ତାହାପରି ଏହି ଦେଶର ସମସ୍ତ ଭୂମି ଗନ୍ଧକ ଓ ଲବଣ ଓ ଦହନ ରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହାଇେଅଛି। ତହିଁରେ କିଛି ବକ୍ସ୍ଟଣାୟାଏ ନାହିଁ, କି ଫଳ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହକ୍ସ୍ଟଏ ନାହିଁ ଏବଂ ତହିଁରେ କୌଣସି ତୃଣ ବଢେ ନାହିଁ।

ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯେଉଁ ମଞ୍ଜି ଭୁମି ରେ ରୋପଣ କରିଥିଲୁ ସଗେୁଡିକ ମାଟି ରେ ଶୁଖି ମରିୟାଇଛି। ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ରୋପିତ ବୃକ୍ଷ ଶୁଷ୍କ ଓ ମୃତ। ଆମ୍ଭର ଶସ୍ଯ ଅମାର ଶୂନ୍ଯ ଓ ଭଗ୍ନ ପ୍ରାଯ।
