ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, କାହିଁକି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଲୋକମାନେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ରେ ଓ ମହାମାରୀ ରେ ମରିବ ? ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବାବିଲୋନ ରାଜାଙ୍କର ସବୋ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ଏହା ଘଟିବ।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ' ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଏହି ନଗର ରେ ରହିବ, ସେ ଖଡ୍ଗ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଓ ମହାମାରୀ ରେ ମରିବ। ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ବାହାର ହାଇେ କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ୟିବ ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ। ସମାନେେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବେ ଓ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବେ।'

କିନ୍ତୁ ଯିରିମିୟ କହିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରୁଛି, ମାେ ଦ୍ବାରା କଥିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ଯ ଆପଣ ମାନନ୍ତୁ। ତହିଁରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହବେ ଓ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ରହିବ।

ତା'ପ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମାରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ଚିନ୍ତାକର ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ପ୍ରତି କି ମହା ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ଘଟିବ ? ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୁଁ ଚାରି ମହାଦଣ୍ଡ ଯଥା : ଖଡ୍ଗ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ, ହିଂସ୍ରଜନ୍ତୁ ଓ ମହାମାରୀ ପଠାଇବି, ସେତବେେଳେ ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ଓ ପଶୁ ସମସ୍ତେ ଉଚ୍ଛନ୍ନ ହବେେ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଜଣେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ତା'ର ଧାର୍ମିକତାରୁ ବିରତ ହୁଏ ଏବଂ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକର ସମସ୍ତ ଜଘନ୍ଯ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରେ, ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ କି? ତା'ର (ଆଗରୁ କରିଥିବା) ଧାର୍ମିକତା କାର୍ୟ୍ଯସବୁ ହିସାବକୁ ନିଆୟିବ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ପାପ ଯୋଗୁଁ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ମରିବ।

ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କୁହ, 'ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମାରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମରଣ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତାଷେ ନାହିଁା କିନ୍ତୁ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଯେପରି ନିଜ ପାପ ପଥରୁ ନିବୃତ୍ତ ହାଇେ ବଞ୍ଚେ, ସେଥି ରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସନ୍ତାଷେ ଲାଭ କରୁ। ତେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିଜ ନିଜ କୁପଥରୁ ଫରେ ଓ ମାରେ ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହୁଅ। ହେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବଂଶ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ମରିବ ?'
