ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତକ୍ସ୍ଟତ ହେଉଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଶୂନମେ ରେ ତାଙ୍କର ସନୋ ଛାଉଣୀ ପ୍ରସ୍ତକ୍ସ୍ଟତ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଶାଉଲ ସମସ୍ତ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟବାସୀଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ କରି ଗିଲ୍ବୋଯ ରେ ସନୋ ଛାଉଣୀ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ।

ହେ ଗଲ୍ବୋଯ ପର୍ବତଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କାକର କି ବୃଷ୍ଟି ନ ପଡକ୍ସ୍ଟ। ଅଥବା ଉପହାରଜନକ କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ନ ହେଉ। କାରଣ ସଠାେରେ ବୀରମାନଙ୍କର ଢାଲ ଅଦରକାରୀ ପରି ଫିଙ୍ଗି ଦିଆଗଲା। ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ଢାଲ ତୈଲ ରେ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ।

ସେତବେେଳେ ଦାଉଦ ୟାଇ ୟାବେଶ୍-ଗିଲିଯଦ ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ଅସ୍ଥି ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପକ୍ସ୍ଟତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନର ଅସ୍ଥି ନେଲେ। କାରଣ ଗିଲ୍ବୋଯ ରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟଯୀମାନେ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବଧ କରିବା ଦିନ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଶବ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ବୈଥ୍ଶାନ ଛକରେ ଟଙ୍ଗାଗଲା ଉତ୍ତା ରେ ୟାବେଶ୍- ଗିଲିଯଦୀଯମାନେ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ତାହା ଗ୍ଭରେି କରି ନଇେଥିଲେ।
