ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ବାହାରି ଆସିଲେ କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଥର ଦାଉଦ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ଅତି ଦକ୍ଷ ଅଧିକାରୀ ହେଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ଅଧିକ ମାନ୍ଯ ପାଇଲେ।

ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର କହନ୍ତି, ତକ୍ସ୍ଟମ୍ଭ ଗୃହରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଓ ତକ୍ସ୍ଟମ୍ଭ ପକ୍ସ୍ଟତୃଗୃହରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଚିରଦିନ ପାଇଁ ମାରେ ଯାଜକ ହବେ ବୋଲି ମୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କଲି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଏବେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, 'ତାହା ଆଉ କବେେ ଘଟିବ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମାେତେ ସମ୍ମାନ କରନ୍ତି, ମୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସମ୍ମାନ କରିବି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମାେତେ ତକ୍ସ୍ଟଚ୍ଛଜ୍ଞାନ କରନ୍ତି, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅସମ୍ମାନ କରାୟିବ।
