କିନ୍ତୁ ଶାଉଲ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ମାରିଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ଚାହିଁଲେ ଏବଂ ଶାଉଲ ଏକ ଉପାଯ ଚିନ୍ତା କଲେ। ଶାଉଲ କହିଲେ, ଦାଉଦ ମରେବ୍ ନାମକ ମାରେଜେଷ୍ଠ କନ୍ଯାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଦେଖ। ମୁ ତାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବିବାହ ଦବେି। ତା'ପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜଣେ ବୀର ଯୋଦ୍ଧା ସୈନିକ ହବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ସନ୍ତାନପରି, ତା'ପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କର। ଶାଉଲ ଚିନ୍ତାକଲେ, ମୁ ତାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହତ୍ଯା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ହାତ ଉଠାଇବି ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ହକ୍ସ୍ଟଏତ ତାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହତ୍ଯା କରି ପାରନ୍ତି।
