ପାଉଲ ଓ ଶୀଲା ଆଂଫିପଲ ଓ ଆପଲ୍ଲୋନିଆ ନଗର ଦଇେ ଥସେଲନୀକୀ ନଗର ରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ। ସଠାେରେ ଯିହୂଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଗୋଟିଏ ସମାଜଗୃହ ଥିଲା।

ଥସେଲନୀକୀୟ ଯିହୂଦୀୟମାନେ ବରଯୋ ନଗର ରେ ପାଉଲ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ଯ ପ୍ରଚ଼ାର କରୁଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଜାଣିପାରିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସମାନେେ ସଠାେକୁ ଆସି ଆନ୍ ଦୋଳନ କରି ଲୋକ ସମୂହକୁ ମତଇେଲେ।

ସଠାେରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଥସେଲନୀକୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବେଶି ଭଦ୍ର ଓ ଉତ୍ତମ ଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ପାଉଲ ଓ ଶୀଲାଙ୍କର କଥା ଅତି ଉତ୍ସୁକତାର ସହ ଶୁଣିଲେ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର କଥା ସତ୍ଯ ନା ମିଥ୍ଯା, ଏହି କଥା ଜାଣିବା ପାଇଁ ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରି ଦେଖିଲେ।
