2 Kings 17:1-18 in Oriya

1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

4 And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger:

12 For they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

16 And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

1 ଯିହୁଦା ରେ ଆହାସ୍ଙ୍କ ରାଜତ୍ବର ଦ୍ବାଦଶ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ଏଲାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ହାେେଶୟ ଶମରିଯା ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଶାସନ କରିବା ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ ଓ ସେ ନଅବର୍ଷ ରାଜତ୍ବ କଲେ।

2 ହାେେଶୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ରେ କୁକର୍ମ କଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ତାଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଶାସନ କରୁଥିବା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ସେ ଖରାପ ନଥିଲେ।
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

3 ତାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଅଶୂରର ରାଜା ଶଲ୍ମନଷେର ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରି ନିଜର ଅଧିନସ୍ଥ କଲେ। ତେଣୁ ହାେେଶୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ କରିବାକୁ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଗତ ଭାବରେ ଦାନ ଦେଲେ।
Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

4 ପରେ ହାେେଶୟ ମିଶରର ରାଜା ସୋଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ ପାଇଁ ପଚାରିଲେ। ଅଶୂରର ରାଜା ହାେେଶୟଙ୍କର ଏ ଚକ୍ରାନ୍ତ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଜାଣିବାକୁ ପାଇଲେ। ହାେେଶୟ ମଧ୍ଯ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହି ବର୍ଷ ବାର୍ଷିକ ଭଟେି ପଠାଇଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଏଣୁ ଅଶୂରର ରାଜା ହାେେଶୟଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି କରାଗାର ରେ ରଖିଲେ।

5 ଅଶୁରର ରାଜା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବହୁସ୍ଥାନଗୁଡିକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ ଓ ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଆସି ତା' ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ତିନି ବର୍ଷ ଧରି ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ।
Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

6 ହାେେଶୟ ରାଜତ୍ବର ନବମ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ଅଶୂରର ରାଜା ଶମରିଯା ଅଧିକାର କଲେ। ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ଅଶୂରକୁ ନଇଗେଲା ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଓ ଗୋଶୋନ ନଗର ହାବୋର ନଦୀର ହଲହ ରେ ଓ ମାଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ନାନା ଦେଶ ରେ ରଖିଲେ।

7 ଏସବୁ ଘଟିବାର କାରଣ ହେଲା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ପାପକର୍ମ କରିଥିଲେ। ଯେଉଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ମିଶରରୁ ଅଣାଇ ଥିଲେ ଓ ମିଶରର ରାଜା ଫାରୋଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା ନ କରି ଅନ୍ୟ ଦବେତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା କଲେ।
For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

8 ଜାତିମାନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା କରିଥିବା କାର୍ୟ୍ଯଗୁଡିକ ସମାନେେ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ। ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦେଶରୁ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରିବାକୁ ବାଧ୍ଯ ହେଲେ, ଯେତବେେଳେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆସିଲେ।
And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

9 ଆଉମଧ୍ଯ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଗୁପ୍ତ ପାପରେ ଲିପ୍ତ ହେଲେ।
And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

10 ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଉଚ୍ଚପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ଓ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ହରିତ୍ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବୃକ୍ଷ ମୂଳ ରେ ସ୍ମରଣାର୍ଥକ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ଓ ଆଶରୋ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିମାନ ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ।

11 ପୁଣି ସଠାେରେ ଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥଳୀମାନଙ୍କ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ବିତାଡିତ ହାଇେଥିବା ଦେଶୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ସମାନେେ ଧୂପ ଜଳାଇଲେ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରକ୍ତି ପାଇଁ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମ କଲେ।
And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger:

12 ପୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏହି କର୍ମ କରିବ ନାହିଁ, ଏହିରୂପେ ଯେଉଁ ଦବେତାମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷଯ ରେ କହିଥିଲେ, ସହେି ଦବେତାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମାନେେ ପୂଜା କଲେ।
For they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

13 ତଥାପି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଓ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ପ୍ରତି ଚତାବେନୀ ଦଇେ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କୁକାର୍ୟ୍ଯରୁ ବିରତ ହୁଅ, ଆଉ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଯେଉଁ ଆଦେଶ କଲି ଓ ଯାହାସବୁ ମାରେ ସବେକ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଗଣଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇଅଛୁଁ, ତଦନୁସା ରେ ମାରେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଓ ବିଧି ସବୁ ପାଳନ କର।
Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

14 ମାତ୍ର ସମାନେେ ଶୁଣିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଅବାଧ୍ଯ ହେଲେ। ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହା ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

15 ସମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପିତୃଗଣଙ୍କ ସହିତ କୃତ ତାଙ୍କର ନିଯମ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପ୍ରତି ଦତ୍ତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସାକ୍ଷ୍ଯସବୁ ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ଯ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଚତାବେନୀ ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଅମାନ୍ଯ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିଗୁଡିକୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କଲେ ପୂଜା କଲେ ଏବଂ ସମାନେେ ନିଜେ ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ ହାଇଗେଲେ। ସମାନେେ ତାଙ୍କ ଚତୁଃପାଶର୍‌ବ ରେ ଜାତି ପରି ବାସ କଲେ, ଯଦିଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦଇେଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ଯାହା କରନ୍ତି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତାହା କର ନାହିଁ। ଯାହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବାରିବାକୁ ମନା କରିଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ତାହା କଲେ।

16 ପୁଣି ସମାନେେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞା ତ୍ଯାଗ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣର ଦୁଇ ଗୋବତ୍ସ ଓ ଆଶରୋ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଆକାଶର ତାରାଗଣଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା କଲେ ଓ ବାଲ୍ର ସବୋ କଲେ।

17 ଆଉ ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ପୁତ୍ର କନ୍ଯାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ବଳିଦାନ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତବାଣୀ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ୟାଦୁବିଦ୍ଯା, ଡାହାଣି ବିନ୍ଯା ଓ ଜ୍ଯୋତିଷବିଦ୍ଯାଗୁଡିକ ବ୍ଯବହାର କଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କୋରଧାନିତ୍ବ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ରେ କୁକର୍ମ କରିବାକୁ ସମାନେେ ନିଜକୁ ବିକ୍ରଯ କଲେ।

18 ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଉପରେ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କ୍ରୋଦ୍ଧ ହେଲେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ନିଜ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଦୂ ରଇେ ଦେଲେ। କବଳେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଛଡା ଆଉ କହେି ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହିଲେ ନାହିଁ।
Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
