2 Kings 10:1-5 in Oriya

1 And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,

2 Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

3 Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

5 And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

1 ଆହାବଙ୍କର ସତୁରି ପୁତ୍ର ଶମରିଯା ରେ ଥିଲେ। ଯହେୂ ଶମରିଯା ରେ ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲରେ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ ଅର୍ଥାତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆହାବଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିପାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହିପରି ପତ୍ରମାନ ଲେଖି ପଠାଇଲେ। ଯଥା:

2 ଏହି ଚିଠି ପାଇବା ମାତ୍ ରେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଅତି ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ଯୋଗ୍ଯତମ ସନ୍ତାନଟିକୁ ବାଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ରଥମାନ ଅଛି, ଅଶ୍ବମାନ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏକ ସୁଦୃଢ ନଗର ରେ ବାସ କରୁଛ, ଆଉ ମଧ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ଶସ୍ତ୍ର ଅଛି।

3 ତେଣୁ ସହେି ଯୋଗ୍ଯତମ ସନ୍ତାନକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତାର ସିଂହାସନ ପାଇଁ ବାଛିଅଛ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରଭୁର ପରିବାର ପାଇଁ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କର।
Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

4 ମାତ୍ର ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲରେ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଗଣ ଭୟଭୀତ ହାଇେ ପଡିଲେ। ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ଯେତବେେଳେ ସେ ଦୁଇ ରାଜା ଯହେୂଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦ କରି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ କିପରି ତାଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦ କରିବା?

5 ତେଣୁ ଗୃହାଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ, ନଗର ରାଜ୍ଯପାଳ, ପ୍ରାଚୀନଗଣ, ଆହାବଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିପାଳକମାନେ ଯହେୂଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହିକଥା କହି ପଠାଇଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଦାସ, ଆପଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତାହା ସବୁ ପାଳନ କରିବୁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ କୌଣସି ଲୋକକୁ ରାଜା କରିବୁ ନାହିଁ, ଯାହା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ରେ ଭଲ ତାହା ଆପଣ କରନ୍ତୁ।
