2 Kings 10
1 ଆହାବଙ୍କର ସତୁରି ପୁତ୍ର ଶମରିଯା ରେ ଥିଲେ। ଯହେୂ ଶମରିଯା ରେ ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲରେ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ ଅର୍ଥାତ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆହାବଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିପାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହିପରି ପତ୍ରମାନ ଲେଖି ପଠାଇଲେ। ଯଥା:
2 ଏହି ଚିଠି ପାଇବା ମାତ୍ ରେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଅତି ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ଯୋଗ୍ଯତମ ସନ୍ତାନଟିକୁ ବାଛ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ରଥମାନ ଅଛି, ଅଶ୍ବମାନ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏକ ସୁଦୃଢ ନଗର ରେ ବାସ କରୁଛ, ଆଉ ମଧ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ଶସ୍ତ୍ର ଅଛି।
3 ତେଣୁ ସହେି ଯୋଗ୍ଯତମ ସନ୍ତାନକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତାର ସିଂହାସନ ପାଇଁ ବାଛିଅଛ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରଭୁର ପରିବାର ପାଇଁ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କର।
4 ମାତ୍ର ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲରେ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗଗଣ ଭୟଭୀତ ହାଇେ ପଡିଲେ। ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ଯେତବେେଳେ ସେ ଦୁଇ ରାଜା ଯହେୂଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦ କରି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ କିପରି ତାଙ୍କୁ ବନ୍ଦ କରିବା?
5 ତେଣୁ ଗୃହାଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷ, ନଗର ରାଜ୍ଯପାଳ, ପ୍ରାଚୀନଗଣ, ଆହାବଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିପାଳକମାନେ ଯହେୂଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହିକଥା କହି ପଠାଇଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ଦାସ, ଆପଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିବେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ତାହା ସବୁ ପାଳନ କରିବୁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ କୌଣସି ଲୋକକୁ ରାଜା କରିବୁ ନାହିଁ, ଯାହା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିର ରେ ଭଲ ତାହା ଆପଣ କରନ୍ତୁ।
6 ତା'ପରେ ଯହେୂ ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ଚିଠି ନତେୃବର୍ଗ ଓ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଏହା କହି ଲେଖିଲେ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାେ ସପକ୍ଷ ରେ ଓ ମାେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରିବ, ତବେେ ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ କଟାମୁଣ୍ତ ଧରି ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲି ଏହି ସମୟରେ ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲକେୁ ମାେ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସ।
7 ଯେତବେେଳେ ନତେୃବର୍ଗ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରାଚୀନବର୍ଗମାନେ ଏହି ଚିଠି ପାଇଲେ, ସମାନେେ ସହେି ସତୁରି ରାଜାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ନଇେ ବଧ କଲେ, ସମାନେେ ସହେି କଟାମୁଣ୍ତକୁ ଡାଲା ରେ ରଖି ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲକେୁ ଯହେୂଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇଲେ।
8 ତା'ପରେ ଦୂତ ଆସି ଯହେୂଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ସମାନେେ ରାଜପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କର କଟାମୁଣ୍ତ ଆଣିଛନ୍ତି।
9 ପ୍ରଭାତ ରେ ଯହେୂ ବାହାରକୁ ୟାଇ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ଛିଡା ହାଇେ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିରିହ ଲୋକ, ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ମହାଶୟଙ୍କୁ ଚକ୍ରାନ୍ତ କରି ବଧ କଲି, ମାତ୍ର ଏହି ଆହାବଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ କିଏ ବଧ କଲା? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବଧ କଲ।
10 ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଜାଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯାହା ଆହାବ୍ ବଂଶ ବିଷଯ ରେ କହିଥିଲେ, ତାହା ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ଘଟିବ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କର ଦାସ ଏଲିଯ ଦ୍ବାରା ଯାହା କହିଥିଲେ ତାହା ଆଜି ସଫଳ କରାଇଛନ୍ତି।
11 ତେଣୁ ଯହେୂ ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲେ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କର ବଂଶର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ତାଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଧାନ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆତ୍ମୀଯ ବନ୍ଧୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କ ଲୋକରୁ କହେି ଜଣେ ହେଲେ ଜୀବିତ ଛଡାଗଲା ନାହିଁ।
12 ଯହେୂ ୟିଷ୍ରିଯଲେ ତ୍ଯାଗ କରି ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଗଲେ। ସେ ପଥ ମଧିଅରେ ମଷେପାଳକମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣୀ ନିକଟରେ ଅଟକି ଗଲେ। ଯେଉଁଠା ରେ ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଷଠାରୁେ ଲୋମ କାଟିଥିଲେ।
13 ଯହେୂ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଅହସିଯଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପର୍କୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖି ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କିଏ?
14 ତା'ପରେ ଯହେୂ ତାଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ, ଏମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଧର।
15 ଏହାପରେ ଯହେୂ ସଠାରୁେ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲା ବେଳେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ କରିବାକୁ ଆସୁଥିବା ରେଖବର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହାନୋଦବଙ୍କୁ ଭଟେିଲେ। ସେ ଯିହାନୋଦବଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ବାଗତ କରି ପଚାରିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ ବନ୍ଧୁ କି? ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ସରଳ ଓ ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତ?
16 ଯହେୂ କହିଲେ, ମାେ ସହିତ ଆସ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମାରେ କିପରି ଦୃଢ ଆସ୍ଥା ତାହା ଦେଖି ପାରିବ।
17 ଯହେୂ ଶମରିଯାକୁ ଆସି ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ବଂଶଧରଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏଲିଯଙ୍କୁ କହିବାନୁସା ରେ ଯହେୂ ସେ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ।
18 ପୁଣି ଯହେୂ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, ଆହାବ୍ ବାଲ୍ର ଅଳ୍ପ ସବୋ କଲା, ମାତ୍ର ଯହେୂ ତା'ର ବହୁତ ସବୋ କରିବ।
19 ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ବାଲ୍ର ସମସ୍ତ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ, ତା'ର ସମସ୍ତ ପୂଜକଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତା'ର ସମସ୍ତ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାେ ନିକଟକୁ ଡାକ। ଦେଖ ଯେ କହେି ଅନୁପସ୍ଥିତ ନ ରହନ୍ତି, କାରଣ ବାଲ୍ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ମାରେ ଏକ ବଡ ବଳିଦାନ କରିବାର ଇଚ୍ଛା ଏବଂ ଆଉ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଅନୁପସ୍ଥିତ ରହିବ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ହତ୍ଯା କରାୟିବ।
20 ପୁଣି ଯହେୂ କହିଲେ, ବାଲ୍ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ଏକ ପବିତ୍ର ମହାସଭା ଆଯୋଜନ କର। ଆଉ ଯାଜକମାନେ ତାହା ଘାଷେଣା କଲେ।
21 ତା'ପରେ ଯହେୂ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମଗ୍ର ଅଞ୍ଚଳକୁ ବାର୍ତ୍ତା ପଠାଇଲେ। ବାଲ୍ର ସମସ୍ତ ପୂଜକ ଓ ଯାଜକ ଆସିଲେ ଓ କହେି ଜଣେ ହେଲେ ଅନୁପସ୍ଥିତ ରହିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ସମସ୍ତ ବାଲ୍ପୂଜକ ବାଲ ମନ୍ଦିର ରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ ଓ ମନ୍ଦିରଟି ଲୋକରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେଲା।
22 ଯହେୂ ବସ୍ତ୍ରାଗାର ରେ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷକୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ, ସମସ୍ତ ବାଲ୍ ପୂଜକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ବାହାର କରି ଦିଅ। ତେଣୁ ସେ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲା।
23 ତା'ପରେ ଯହେୂ ଓ ରେଖବର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହାନୋଦବ ବାଲ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଗଲେ। ଯହେୂ ବାଲ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରର ଉପାସକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଚତୁଃପାଶର୍ବକୁ ଦେଖ! ଏଠା ରେ ବାଲ୍ ପୂଜାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ଛଡା ଯେପରି ଏଠା ରେ ଆଉ କହେି ନ ଥାଏ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଖାଜେି ନିଶ୍ଚିଚ ହୁଅ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦାସ ଏଠା ରେ ନାହିନ୍ତି।
24 ଏହାପରେ ବାଲ୍ପୂଜକମାନେ ବଳିଦାନ ଓ ହାମବେଳି କରିବାକୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଗଲେ। ଯହେୂ ନିଜର ଅଶୀ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ବାହା ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କରିଥିଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ଯେପରି ଜଣେ କହେି ପଳାଇ ନ ୟାଆନ୍ତି।
25 ଯହେୂ ନବୈେଦ୍ଯ ହାମବେଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବାର ସମାପ୍ତି ପରେ ସେ ପ୍ରହରୀ ଓ ସନୋପତିମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଭିତରକୁ ୟାଅ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ବାଲ୍ ପୂଜାରୀଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କର। କାହାରିକୁ ମନ୍ଦିର ବାହାରକୁ ଆସିବାକୁ ଦିଅ ନାହିଁ।
26 ପୁଣି ସମାନେେ ବାଲ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରରୁ ସ୍ମୃତିସ୍ତମ୍ଭମାନ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣି ପୋଡି଼ ପକାଇଲେ।
27 ସମାନେେ ବାଲ୍ର ସ୍ମରଣାର୍ଥକ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରଗୁଡିକୁ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ ଓ ବାଲ୍ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଧୂଳିସାତ କଲେ ଓ ଏହାକୁ ଶୌଗ୍ଭଳଯ କଲେ। ସଗେୁଡିକ ଆଜିୟାଏ ବ୍ଯବହାର ହେଉଛି।
28 ଏହିରୂପେ ଯହେୂ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲରୁ ବାଲ୍ ପୂଜା ଦୂର କଲେ।
29 ନବାଟଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ୟାରବିଯାମଙ୍କର ପାପକୁ ଯହେୂ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କଲେ ନାହିଁ, ୟିଏ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପାପ କରିବାର କାରଣ ହାଇେଥିଲା। ଯହେୂ ମଧ୍ଯ ବୈଥଲେ ଓ ଦାନ ରେ ଥବା ସୂବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବାଛୁରୀ ଧ୍ବଂସ କରି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ।
30 ଅନନ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯହେୂକୁ କହିଲେ, କାରଣ ମାେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ରେ ଯାହା ଯଥାର୍ଥ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଠିକ୍ କରିଅଛ। ଯାହା ମାରେ ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆହାବ୍ର ବଂଶକୁ ବିନାଶ କରିଅଛି। ଏଣୁ ଗ୍ଭରି ପୁରୁଷ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ସିଂହାସନ ରେ ରାଜତ୍ବ କରିବେ।
31 ତଥାପି ତା'ପରେ ଯହେୂ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଆଦେଶଗୁଡିକ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣଦୟା ରେ ଅନୁକରଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ। ନବାଟଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ୟାରବିଯାମଙ୍କର ପାପକୁ ଯହେୂ ସଂପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ, ୟିଏ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପାପ କରିବାର କାରଣ ହାଇେଥିଲା।
32 ସହେି ସମୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲକୁ ଭାଗ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ। ପୁଣି ଅରାମର ରାଜା ହସାଯଲେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ସୀମା ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କଲେ।
33 ହସାଯଲେ ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପୂର୍ବ ଦିଗରୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଗିଲିଯଦ ଦେଶ ଅର୍ନୋନ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଅରୋଯରଠାରୁେ ଗାଦ୍, ରୁବନ୍େ ଓ ମନଃଶି ପରିବାରବର୍ଗର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶ ଜଯକଲେ। ସେ ବାଶନ ଓ ଗିଲିଯଦର ଅର୍ନୋନ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ଦ୍ବାରା ଆରୋୟରଠାରୁେ ସମସ୍ତ ଦେଶ ଜଯଲାଭ କଲା।
34 ଯହେୂଙ୍କ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ କ୍ରିଯା ପରାକ୍ରମ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ବଂଶ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ଇତିହାସ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲିଖିତ ହାଇେଅଛି।
35 ଯହେୂଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ଅନ୍ତେ ସେ ନିଜ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଗଣଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଶମରିଯା ରେ ସମାଧିସ୍ଥ ହେଲେ। ତାଙ୍କ ପରେ ତାଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହାୟୋଦାରହସ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରେ ରାଜା ହେଲେ।
36 ଶମରିଯା ରେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ଉପରେ ଯହେୂ ଅଠାଇଶ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜତ୍ବ କଲେ।
1 And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,
2 Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;
3 Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.
4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
5 And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
6 Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.
7 And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.
8 And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
9 And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?
10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.
11 So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
12 And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,
13 Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.
14 And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.
15 And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
16 And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.
17 And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the Lord, which he spake to Elijah.
18 And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.
19 Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
20 And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
21 And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
22 And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.
23 And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord, but the worshippers of Baal only.
24 And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.
25 And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
26 And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.
27 And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.
28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
29 Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Beth-el, and that were in Dan.
30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.
32 In those days the Lord began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;
33 From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
35 And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.
36 And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

1 என் புத்தியீனத்தை நீங்கள் சற்றே சகித்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; என்னைச் சகித்துமிருக்கிறீர்களே.
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 நான் உங்களைக் கற்புள்ள கன்னியாகக் கிறிஸ்து என்னும் ஒரே புருஷனுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்க நியமித்தபடியால், உங்களுக்காக தேவவைராக்கியமான வைராக்கியங்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 ஆகிலும், சர்ப்பமானது தன்னுடைய தந்திரத்தினாலே ஏவாளை வஞ்சித்ததுபோல, உங்கள் மனதும் கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றிய உண்மையினின்று விலகும்படி கெடுக்கப்படுமோவென்று பயந்திருக்கிறேன்.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 எப்படியெனில், உங்களிடத்தில் வருகிறவன் நாங்கள் பிரசங்கியாத வேறொரு இயேசுவைப் பிரசங்கித்தானானால், அல்லது நீங்கள் பெற்றிராத வேறொரு ஆவியையும், நீங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாத வேறொரு சுவிசேஷத்தையும் பெற்றீர்களானால், நன்றாய்ச் சகித்திருப்பீர்களே.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
6 நான் பேச்சிலே கல்லாதவனாயிருந்தாலும், அறிவிலே கல்லாதவனல்ல; எந்த விஷயத்திலும் எல்லாருக்கு முன்பாகவும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே நாங்கள் வெளிப்பட்டிருக்கிறோமே.
But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
7 நீங்கள் உயர்த்தப்படும்படி நான் என்னைத்தானே தாழ்த்தி, தேவனுடைய சுவிசேஷத்தை இலவசமாய் உங்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கித்ததினாலே குற்றஞ்செய்தேனோ?
Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
8 உங்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்யும்படிக்கு, மற்றச் சபைகளிடத்தில் சம்பளத்தைப்பெற்று, அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டேன்.
I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
9 நான் உங்களோடிருந்து குறைவுபட்டபோதும், ஒருவரையும் நான் வருத்தப்படுத்தவில்லை; மக்கெதோனியாவிலிருந்து வந்த சகோதரர் என் குறைவை நிறைவாக்கினார்கள், எவ்விதத்திலேயும் உங்களுக்குப் பாரமாயிராதபடிக்கு ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருந்தேன், இனிமேலும் ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருப்பேன்.
And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
10 அகாயாநாட்டின் திசைகளிலே இந்தப் புகழ்ச்சி என்னைவிட்டு நீங்குவதில்லையென்று என்னிலுள்ள கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய சத்தியத்தைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன்.
As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11 இப்படிச் சொல்லவேண்டியதென்ன? நான் உங்களைச் சிநேகியாதபடியினாலேயோ? தேவன் அறிவார்.
Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
12 மேலும், எங்களை விரோதிக்கச் சமயந்தேடுகிறவர்களுக்குச் சமயம் கிடையாதபடிக்கு, தங்களைக்குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிற காரியத்தில் அவர்கள் எங்களைப்போலக் காணப்படும்படி, நான் செய்வதையே இன்னும் செய்வேன்.
But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் கள்ள அப்போஸ்தலர்கள், கபடமுள்ள வேலையாட்கள், கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய அப்போஸ்தலரின் வேஷத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 அது ஆச்சரியமல்ல, சாத்தானும் ஒளியின் தூதனுடைய வேஷத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொள்வானே.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 ஆகையால் அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் நீதியின் ஊழியக்காரருடைய வேஷத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டால் அது ஆச்சரியமல்லவே; அவர்கள் முடிவு அவர்கள் கிரியைகளுக்குத்தக்கதாயிருக்கும்.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
16 பின்னும் நான் சொல்லுகிறேன்; ஒருவனும் என்னைப் புத்தியீனனென்று எண்ணவேண்டாம்; அப்படி எண்ணினால், நானும் சற்றே மேன்மைபாராட்டும்படி, என்னைப் புத்தியீனனைப்போலாகிலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
17 இப்படி நான் சொல்லுகிறது கர்த்தருக்கேற்றபடி சொல்லாமல், மேன்மைபாராட்டும் தைரியத்தினாலே புத்தியீனனைப்போலச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.
18 அநேகர் மாம்சத்திற்கேற்றபடி மேன்மைபாராட்டிக்கொள்ளுகையில், நானும் மேன்மைபாராட்டுவேன்.
Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.
19 நீங்கள் புத்தியுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்து புத்தியில்லாதவர்களைச் சந்தோஷமாய்ச் சகித்திருக்கிறீர்களே.
For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
20 ஒருவன் உங்களைச் சிறையாக்கினாலும், ஒருவன் உங்களைப் பட்சித்தாலும், ஒருவன் உங்களைக் கைவசப்படுத்தினாலும், ஒருவன் தன்னை உயர்த்தினாலும், ஒருவன் உங்களை முகத்தில் அறைந்தாலும் சகித்திருக்கிறீர்களே.
For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
21 நாங்கள் பலவீனரானதுபோல, எங்களுக்கு வந்த கனவீனத்தைக்குறித்துப் பேசுகிறேன்; ஒருவன் எதிலே துணிவுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறானோ அதிலே நானும் துணிவுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறேன்; இப்படிப் புத்தியீனமாய்ப் பேசுகிறேன்.
I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.
22 அவர்கள் எபிரெயரா? நானும் எபிரெயன்; அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலரா? நானும் இஸ்ரவேலன்; அவர்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாரா? நானும் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியான்.
Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
23 அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவின் ஊழியக்காரரா? நான் அதிகம்; புத்தியீனமாய்ப் பேசுகிறேன்; நான் அதிகமாய்ப் பிரயாசப்பட்டவன், அதிகமாய் அடிபட்டவன், அதிகமாய்க் காவல்களில் வைக்கப்பட்டவன், அநேகந்தரம் மரண அவதியில் அகப்பட்டவன்.
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 யூதர்களால் ஒன்றுகுறைய நாற்பதடியாக ஐந்துதரம் அடிபட்டேன்;
Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 மூன்றுதரம் மிலாறுகளால் அடிபட்டேன், ஒருதரம் கல்லெறியுண்டேன், மூன்றுதரம் கப்பற்சேதத்தில் இருந்தேன், கடலிலே ஒரு இராப்பகல் முழுவதும் போக்கினேன்.
Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 அநேகந்தரம் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினேன்; ஆறுகளால் வந்த மோசங்களிலும், கள்ளரால் வந்த மோசங்களிலும், என் சுயஜனங்களால் வந்த மோசங்களிலும், அந்நிய ஜனங்களால் வந்த மோசங்களிலும், பட்டணங்களில் உண்டான மோசங்களிலும், வனாந்தரத்தில் உண்டான மோசங்களிலும், சமுத்திரத்தில் உண்டான மோசங்களிலும், கள்ளச்சகோதரரிடத்தில் உண்டான மோசங்களிலும்;
In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 பிரயாசத்திலும், வருத்தத்திலும், அநேகமுறை கண்விழிப்புகளிலும், பசியிலும் தாகத்திலும், அநேகமுறை உபவாசங்களிலும், குளிரிலும், நிர்வாணத்திலும் இருந்தேன்.
In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 இவை முதலானவைகளையல்லாமல், எல்லாச் சபைகளைக்குறித்தும் உண்டாயிருக்கிற கவலை என்னை நாள்தோறும் நெருக்குகிறது.
Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
29 ஒருவன் பலவீனனானால் நானும் பலவீனனாகிறதில்லையோ? ஒருவன் இடறினால் என் மனம் எரியாதிருக்குமோ?
Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
30 நான் மேன்மைபாராட்டவேண்டுமானால், என் பலவீனத்திற்கடுத்தவைகளைக் குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டுவேன்.
If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.
31 என்றென்றைக்கும் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்பட்ட தேவனும், நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பிதாவுமானவர் நான் பொய் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையென்று அறிவார்.
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
32 தமஸ்குபட்டணத்து அரேத்தா ராஜாவினுடைய சேனைத்தலைவன் என்னைப் பிடிக்கவேண்டுமென்று தமஸ்கருடைய பட்டணத்தைக் காவல்வைத்துக் காத்தான்;
In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:
33 அப்பொழுது நான் கூடையிலே வைக்கப்பட்டு, ஜன்னலிலிருந்து மதில்வழியாய் இறக்கிவிடப்பட்டு, அவனுடைய கைக்குத் தப்பினேன்.
And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
