1 Kings 11:12
ଯେ ହତେୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଭଲ ପାଉଥିଲୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଜୀବିତାବସ୍ଥା ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ନବୋ ନାହିଁ। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୁତ୍ର ରାଜା ହେଲାପରେ ତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଛଡଇେ ନବୋ।

Exodus 20:5
କୌଣସି ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିକୁ ଉପାସନା କରିବ ନାହିଁ କିମ୍ବା ତା'ର ସବୋ କରିବ ନାହିଁ। କାହିଁକି? କାରଣ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅଟେ। ମୁଁ ଇର୍ଷାପରାଯଣ ପରମେଶ୍ବର। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମାେତେ ଘୃଣା କରନ୍ତି ସମାନେେ ମାରେ ଶତୃ ରେ ଗଣାୟାନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ତୃତୀୟ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ଚତୁର୍ଥ ପୁରୁଷ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଶାସ୍ତି ବିଧାନ କରିବି।

ଶାଉଲ ଗଧମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖାଜେିବ ପାଇଁ ଗଲେ। ସେ ଇଫ୍ରଯିମ ପର୍ବତ ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ଦଇେ ଗଲେ, ତା'ପରେ ଶାଲିଶା ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଦଇେ ଗଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହେଁ ନିରାଶ ହେଲ। ତେଣୁ ସମାନେେ ଶାଲୀମ୍ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଦଇେ ଗଲେ ସଠାେରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ନିରାଶ ହବୋରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରବେଶ ଦଇଗେଲେ। ସଠାେରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ନିରାଶ ହେେଲ।

ଆହାବ୍ ତା'ର କୁକର୍ମ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଅନୁତାପ କରି ମାେ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ନମ୍ର କଲା। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ଦେଖୁଅଛ। ଏହି ହତେୁ ମୁଁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତା'ର ଜୀବନ ରେ କିଛି ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଘଟାଇବାକୁ ଯାଉ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ର ପୁତ୍ର ରାଜା ହବୋ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବି ଏବଂ ତା'ପରେ ତା'ର ପରିବାର ପ୍ରତି ବିପର୍ୟ୍ଯଯ ଆଣିବି।
2 Kings 20:17
ସମୟ ଆସୁଛି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗୃହ ରେ ଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ଓ ଏ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ସଞ୍ଚିତ ସମସ୍ତ ପଦାର୍ଥ ବାବିଲକୁ ନିଆୟିବ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି କୌଣସି ଜିନିଷ ଛଡା ୟିବ ନାହିଁ।

ତା'ପରେ ହିଜକିଯ ଯିଶାଇୟକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ଯ କହିଲେ, ତାହା ଅତି ଉତ୍ତମ।

ଭୟଙ୍କର ଜିନିଷ ଏହି ନିବାସୀ ଓ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଘଟିବ। ଏହାଶୁଣି ତୁମ୍ଭର ହୃଦଯ କୋମଳ ହେଲା। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଛାମୁ ରେ ନିଜକୁ ନମ୍ର କଲ ଓ ନିଜ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ଚିରିଲ ଓ ମାେ ଛାମୁ ରେ କ୍ରନ୍ଦନ କଲ। ଏଣୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ବିନତି ଶୁଣିଲି।'
