கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் உருவின பட்டயத்தைத் தம்முடைய கையிலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வழியிலே நிற்கிறதைக் கழுதை கண்டு, வழியை விட்டு வயலிலே விலகிப்போயிற்று; கழுதையை வழியில் திருப்ப பிலேயாம் அதை அடித்தான்.

பிலேயாமின் கழுதை கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் சாலையில் நின்று கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பார்த்தது. அத்தேவ தூதன் தன் கையில் வாள் ஒன்றை வைத்திருந்தான். எனவே கழுதை சாலையிலிருந்து திரும்பி வயலில் இறங்கியது. பிலேயாமால் தேவ தூதனைக் காணமுடியவில்லை; எனவே அவன் கழுதை மீது மிகுந்த கோபங்கொண்டான். அவன் கழுதையை அடித்து சாலைக்குத் திரும்புமாறு கட்டாயப்படுத்தினான்.
