וַתְּדַבֵּ֨ר spake dābar מִרְיָ֤ם And Miriam miryām וְאַֽהֲרֹן֙ and Aaron ʾahărôn בְּמֹשֶׁ֔ה against Moses mōše עַל because ʿal אֹד֛וֹת of ʾôdôt הָֽאִשָּׁ֥ה woman ʾiššâ הַכֻּשִׁ֖ית the Ethiopian kûšît אֲשֶׁ֣ר whom ʾăšer לָקָ֑ח he had married: lāqaḥ כִּֽי for kî אִשָּׁ֥ה woman. ʾiššâ כֻשִׁ֖ית an Ethiopian kûšît לָקָֽח׃ he had married lāqaḥ

וַיֹּֽאמְר֗וּ And they said, ʾāmar הֲרַ֤ק only raq אַךְ indeed ʾak בְּמֹשֶׁה֙ by Moses? mōše דִּבֶּ֣ר spoken dābar יְהוָ֔ה Hath the Lord yĕhōwâ הֲלֹ֖א hath he not lōʾ גַּם also gam בָּ֣נוּ דִבֵּ֑ר spoken dābar וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע heard šāmaʿ יְהוָֽה׃ by us? And the Lord yĕhōwâ

וְהָאִ֥ישׁ (Now the man ʾîš מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mōše עָנָ֣ו meek, ʿānāw מְאֹ֑ד very mĕʾōd מִכֹּל֙ above all kōl הָֽאָדָ֔ם the men ʾādām אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ʾăšer עַל upon ʿal פְּנֵ֥י the face pānîm הָֽאֲדָמָֽה׃ of the earth.) ʾădāmâ

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר spake ʾāmar יְהוָ֜ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ פִּתְאֹ֗ם suddenly pitʾôm אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֤ה Moses, mōše וְאֶֽל and unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹן֙ Aaron, ʾahărôn וְאֶל and unto ʾēl מִרְיָ֔ם Miriam, miryām צְא֥וּ Come out yāṣāʾ שְׁלָשְׁתְּכֶ֖ם ye three šālôš אֶל unto ʾēl אֹ֣הֶל the tabernacle ʾōhel מוֹעֵ֑ד of the congregation. môʿēd וַיֵּֽצְא֖וּ came out. yāṣāʾ שְׁלָשְׁתָּֽם׃ And they three šālôš

וַיֵּ֤רֶד came down yārad יְהוָה֙ And the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּעַמּ֣וּד in the pillar ʿammûd עָנָ֔ן of the cloud, ʿānān וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד and stood ʿāmad פֶּ֣תַח the door petaḥ הָאֹ֑הֶל of the tabernacle, ʾōhel וַיִּקְרָא֙ and called qārāʾ אַֽהֲרֹ֣ן Aaron ʾahărôn וּמִרְיָ֔ם and Miriam: miryām וַיֵּֽצְא֖וּ came forth. yāṣāʾ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ and they both šĕnayim

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר And he said, ʾāmar שִׁמְעוּ Hear šāmaʿ נָ֣א now nāʾ דְבָרָ֑י my words: dābār אִם If ʾim יִֽהְיֶה֙ there be hāyâ נְבִ֣יאֲכֶ֔ם a prophet nābîʾ יְהוָ֗ה among you, the Lord yĕhōwâ בַּמַּרְאָה֙ him in a vision, marʾâ אֵלָ֣יו unto ʾēl אֶתְוַדָּ֔ע will make myself known yādaʿ בַּֽחֲל֖וֹם unto him in a dream. ḥălôm אֲדַבֶּר will speak dābar בּֽוֹ׃

לֹא not lōʾ כֵ֖ן so, kēn עַבְדִּ֣י My servant ʿebed מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses mōše בְּכָל in all kōl בֵּיתִ֖י mine house. bayit נֶֽאֱמָ֥ן faithful ʾāman הֽוּא׃ who hûʾ

פֶּ֣ה mouth pe אֶל to ʾēl פֶּ֞ה mouth, pe אֲדַבֶּר With him will I speak dābar בּ֗וֹ וּמַרְאֶה֙ even apparently, marʾe וְלֹ֣א and not lōʾ בְחִידֹ֔ת in dark speeches; ḥîdâ וּתְמֻנַ֥ת and the similitude tĕmûnâ יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ יַבִּ֑יט shall he behold: nābaṭ וּמַדּ֙וּעַ֙ wherefore maddûaʿ לֹ֣א lōʾ יְרֵאתֶ֔ם then were ye not afraid yārēʾ לְדַבֵּ֖ר to speak dābar בְּעַבְדִּ֥י against my servant ʿebed בְמֹשֶֽׁה׃ Moses? mōše

וַיִּֽחַר was kindled ḥārâ אַ֧ף And the anger ʾap יְהוָ֛ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ בָּ֖ם וַיֵּלַֽךְ׃ against them; and he departed. hālak

וְהֶֽעָנָ֗ן And the cloud ʿānān סָ֚ר departed sûr מֵעַ֣ל from off ʿal הָאֹ֔הֶל the tabernacle; ʾōhel וְהִנֵּ֥ה and, behold, hinnē מִרְיָ֖ם Miriam miryām מְצֹרַ֣עַת leprous, ṣāraʿ כַּשָּׁ֑לֶג as snow: šeleg וַיִּ֧פֶן looked pānâ אַֽהֲרֹ֛ן and Aaron ʾahărôn אֶל upon ʾēl מִרְיָ֖ם Miriam, miryām וְהִנֵּ֥ה and, behold, hinnē מְצֹרָֽעַת׃ leprous. ṣāraʿ

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said ʾāmar אַֽהֲרֹ֖ן And Aaron ʾahărôn אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses, mōše בִּ֣י Alas, bî אֲדֹנִ֔י my lord, ʾādôn אַל not ʾal נָ֨א I beseech thee, nāʾ תָשֵׁ֤ת lay šît עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ upon ʿal חַטָּ֔את the sin ḥaṭṭāʾâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר us, wherein ʾăšer נוֹאַ֖לְנוּ we have done foolishly, yāʾal וַֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר and wherein ʾăšer חָטָֽאנוּ׃ we have sinned. ḥāṭāʾ

אַל not ʾal נָ֥א Let her nāʾ תְהִ֖י be hāyâ כַּמֵּ֑ת as one dead, mût אֲשֶׁ֤ר of whom ʾăšer בְּצֵאתוֹ֙ when he cometh out yāṣāʾ מֵרֶ֣חֶם womb. reḥem אִמּ֔וֹ of his mother's ʾēm וַיֵּֽאָכֵ֖ל consumed ʾākal חֲצִ֥י is half ḥēṣî בְשָׂרֽוֹ׃ the flesh bāśār

וַיִּצְעַ֣ק cried ṣāʿaq מֹשֶׁ֔ה And Moses mōše אֶל unto ʾēl יְהוָ֖ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar אֵ֕ל O God, ʾēl נָ֛א her now, nāʾ רְפָ֥א Heal rāpāʾ נָ֖א I beseech thee. nāʾ לָֽהּ׃

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar יְהוָ֜ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֗ה Moses, mōše וְאָבִ֙יהָ֙ If her father ʾāb יָרֹ֤ק had but yārāq יָרַק֙ spit yārāq בְּפָנֶ֔יהָ in her face, pānîm הֲלֹ֥א should she not lōʾ תִכָּלֵ֖ם be ashamed kālam שִׁבְעַ֣ת seven šebaʿ יָמִ֑ים days? yôm תִּסָּגֵ֞ר let her be shut sāgar שִׁבְעַ֤ת seven šebaʿ יָמִים֙ days, yôm מִח֣וּץ out ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה from the camp maḥăne וְאַחַ֖ר and after that ʾaḥar תֵּֽאָסֵֽף׃ let her be received in ʾāsap

וַתִּסָּגֵ֥ר was shut sāgar מִרְיָ֛ם And Miriam miryām מִח֥וּץ out ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה from the camp maḥăne שִׁבְעַ֣ת seven šebaʿ יָמִ֑ים days: yôm וְהָעָם֙ and the people ʿam לֹ֣א not lōʾ נָסַ֔ע journeyed nāsaʿ עַד till ʿad הֵֽאָסֵ֖ף was brought in ʾāsap מִרְיָֽם׃ Miriam miryām

וְאַחַ֛ר And afterward ʾaḥar נָֽסְע֥וּ removed nāsaʿ הָעָ֖ם the people ʿam מֵֽחֲצֵר֑וֹת from Hazeroth, ḥăṣērôt וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ and pitched ḥānâ בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר in the wilderness midbār פָּארָֽן׃ of Paran. pāʾrān
