Jonah 1 - BBE (Nepali)

1 And the word of the Lord came to Jonah, the son of Amittai, saying,परमप्रभु अमित्तैको छोरा योनासंग बोल्नुभयो। परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ,

2 Up! go to Nineveh, that great town, and let your voice come to it; for their evil-doing has come up before me.“निनवे एउटा ठुलो शहर हो, त्यहाँका मानिसहरुले दुष्ट कर्महरू गरिरहेको बिषयमा मैले सुनेकोछु। यसकारण, तिमी त्यो शहरमा जाऊ, अनि त्यहाँका मानिसहरुलाई ती नराम्रा कामहरु छोडिदेऊ भनी भन।”

3 And Jonah got up to go in flight to Tarshish, away from the Lord; and he went down to Joppa, and saw there a ship going to Tarshish: so he gave them the price of the journey and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish, away from the Lord.योनाले परमेश्वर को कुरा मानेनन्। यशैकारण योना परमप्रभुबाट टाढा कतै भाग्ने प्रयास गरे। त्यसैले उनी यापो तिर गए। योना एउटा जहाजमा चढे जुन र्तशिशतिर जाँदै थियो। योनाले आफ्नो यत्राको निम्ति पैसा दियो अनि जहाजभित्र गएर बस्यो। योनाको इच्छा थियो कि उनी त्यो जहाजमा अरु मानिसहरुसितै र्तशिश जाने अनि परमप्रभुबाट कतै टाढा भाग्ने।

4 And the Lord sent out a great wind on to the sea and there was a violent storm in the sea, so that the ship seemed in danger of being broken.तर परमप्रभुले समुद्रमा भयानक तूफान उठाउनु भयो, समुद्रमा प्रचन्ड आँधी उठेर जहाजलाई त्यसले नाश गर्ला जस्तो भयो।

5 Then the sailors were full of fear, every man crying to his god; and the goods in the ship were dropped out into the sea to make the weight less. But Jonah had gone down into the inmost part of the ship where he was stretched out in a deep sleep.मानिसहरु चाहन्थे कि त्यो जहाज बचाउनको निम्ति त्यसलाई हलुका बनाउँ, त्यसैले जहाजको सबै सामानहरु उठाएर समुद्रमा फ्याँकन थाले। मल्लाहरु धेरै डराएका थिए, प्रत्येक मानिसहरुले आ-आफ्नो देवताहरुलाई प्रार्थना गर्न थाले।योना जहाजको भित्रि भागमा गएर सुतिरहेका थिए।

6 And the ship's captain came to him and said to him, What are you doing sleeping? Up! say a prayer to your God, if by chance God will give a thought to us, so that we may not come to destruction.त्यसैले जहाजका कप्तानहरु तिनीकहाँ आएर भने, “ए सुतुवा, तिमी के गर्दैछौ? उठेर तिम्रा परमेश्वरलाई पुकार, सायद परमेश्वले हाम्रो प्रार्थना सुन्नु हुन्छ र हामी नष्ट हुनेछैनौं।”

7 And they said to one another, Come, let us put this to the decision of chance and see on whose account this evil has come on us. So they did so, and Jonah was seen to be the man.अनि तिनीहरु आपस मा भन्नलागे, “कसको कारणले गर्दा यो आपद हामीमाथि आइपर्न लागेको होला त्यो चिठ्ठा हालेर हेरौं।” यसो भनेर तिनीहरुले चिठ्ठाहालेर हेरे, चिठ्ठा योनाको नाउँमा पर्यो।

8 Then they said to him, Now make clear to us what is your work, and where you come from? what is your country, and who are your people?मानिसहरुले योनालाई भने, “तिम्रो कारणले गर्दा यस्तो ठुलो आपद् हामीमाथि आयो! यसकारण हामीले के गर्यौं? तिम्रो काम केहो? तिमी कहाँबाट आएका हौ? तिम्रो देश कुन हो? अनि तिमी कुन जातिका हौ?”

9 And he said to them, I am a Hebrew, a worshipper of the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.अनि योनाले मानिसहरुलाई भने, “म हिब्रू हुँ। स्वर्गका परमप्रभु परमेश्वरको आरधना गर्दछु। उहाँ परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ जसले समुद्र अनि पृथ्वी सृष्टि गर्नुभयो।”

10 And the men were in great fear, and they said to him, What is this you have done? For the men had knowledge of his flight from the Lord because he had not kept it from them.योनाले मानिसहरुसंग भने, मानिसहरुले यो कुरा थाहा पाए कि तिनी परमप्रभुबाट टाढा भाग्दैछन्। तब तिनीहरु अत्यन्तै डराए। अनि मानिसहरुले योनालाई सोधे, “तिमिले आफ्नो परमेश्वरको बिरुद्धमा किन नराम्रो काम गर्यौ?”

11 And they said to him, What are we to do to you so that the sea may become calm for us? For the sea was getting rougher and rougher.उता आँधी तुफान र समुद्रको छाल झन-झन बढ्दै थियो। त्यसैकारण योनालाई मानिसहरुले भने, “हामीले आफ्नो सुरक्षाको निम्ति के गर्नु पर्छ? समुद्रलाई शान्तगर्न को निम्ति हामीले तिमीसंग के गर्नु पर्छ?”

12 And he said to them, Take me up and put me into the sea, and the sea will become calm for you: for I am certain that because of me this great storm has come on you.योनाले मानिसहरुलाई भने, “म जान्दछु मेरो कारणले नै समुद्रमा तुफान आएको हो, यसकारण तिमीहरुले मलाई समुद्रमा फ्याँकिदेऊ अनि तूफान शान्त भइहाल्छ।”

13 And the men were working hard to get back to the land, but they were not able to do so: for the sea got rougher and rougher against them.तर मानिसहरुले योनालाई समुद्रमा फ्याँकन चाँहदैन थिए। उनीहरुले जहाजलाई किनारामा ल्याउन खुबै कोसिस गरे तर त्यो हुन सकेन। आँधी तूफान र समुद्रको छाल अझ बढ्दै गयो।

14 So, crying to the Lord, they said, Give ear to our prayer, O Lord, give ear, and do not let destruction overtake us because of this man's life; do not put on us the sin of taking life without cause: for you, O Lord, have done what seemed good to you.यसकारण, मानिलहरुले परमप्रभुलाई पुकारे, “बिन्ती छ, हे परमप्रभु बिन्ति छ, यस मानिसको ज्यानको सट्टा हामी नष्ट हुन नपरोस्, र हामी निर्दोषमाथि हत्याको दोष नलागोस्, किनकि हे परमप्रभु! तपाईंलाई जस्तो इच्छा लागेको थियो, सो गर्नु भएको छ।”

15 So they took Jonah up and put him into the sea: and the sea was no longer angry.तब तिनीहरुले योनालाई उचालेर समुद्रमा फालिदिए र समुद्र शान्त भयो।

16 Then great was the men's fear of the Lord; and they made an offering to the Lord and took oaths to him.तब ती मानिसहरुले परमप्रभुको अत्यन्तै डर मान्न थाले र परमप्रभुको निम्ति भाकल गरे अनि बलिदान चढाए।
