Proverbs 25 - YLT (Nepali)

1 Also these are Proverbs of Solomon, that men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed: --सुलेमानका यी हितोपदेशहरू यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाका नोकरहरूबाट उतारेका हुन्।

2 The honour of God `is' to hide a thing, And the honour of kings to search out a matter.परमेश्वरको महिमा चीजहरू लुकाउनु हो अनि राजाको महिमा चीजहरूको जाँच गर्नु हो।

3 The heavens for height, and the earth for depth, And the heart of kings -- `are' unsearchable.जसरी स्वर्ग हामी माथि छ र जमीन हामीबाट मुनि त्यसरी नै राजाको मन पनि रहस्य मय हुन्छ हामी बुझ्नै सक्तैनौं।

4 Take away dross from silver, And a vessel for the refiner goeth forth,यदि चाँदीबाट अशुद्धतालाई निकालिइयो भने शिल्पी सुनारले त्यसबाट सुन्दर गहना बनाउनु सक्छन्।

5 Take away the wicked before a king, And established in righteousness is his throne.यस्तै प्रकारले, यदि दुष्ट अनि बेइमान उपदेशकहरूलाई राजाको उपस्थितिबाट हटाइन्छ भने, उसको शासन धर्मीकताद्वारा सुरक्षित हुनेछ।

6 Honour not thyself before a king, And in the place of the great stand not.राजाको अघि घमण्ड नगर, मुख्य मानिसहरूको महत्वपूर्ण स्थान नओगट।

7 For better `that' he hath said to thee, `Come thou up hither,' Than `that' he humble thee before a noble, Whom thine eyes have seen.एकजना राजकुमारको सामुनेमा अपमानित हुनु भन्दा राजाले तिमीलाई “यहाँ आइज” भनेको असल हो।

8 Go not forth to strive, haste, turn, What dost thou in its latter end, When thy neighbour causeth thee to blush?न्यायकर्त्तालाई तिमीले देखेको कुरा तत्कालै नभनी हाल। यदि तिमी त्यसो गर्दा अर्को मानिसले तिम्रो कुरोलाई असत्य प्रमाण गरिदिए तिमी अप्ठेरोमा पर्नेछौ।

9 Thy cause plead with thy neighbour, And the secret counsel of another reveal not,तिम्रो कसै सित दुई मत भए आपसमा नै मिलाई हाल अनि साथीको रहस्यको कुरा कसैलाई नभन।

10 Lest the hearer put thee to shame, And thine evil report turn not back.यदि तिमीले अर्काको रहस्य खोलिदियौ भने तिमी आफैं लाजमा पर्नेछौ र तिमी माथि लागेको बद्नामी तिमीबाट कहिल्यै मेटिने छैन।

11 Apples of gold in imagery of silver, `Is' the word spoken at its fit times.सही चिज सही समयमा भन्नु एउटा सुनको स्याउ चाँदीको घेरामा जोडेको जस्तै हो।

12 A ring of gold, and an ornament of pure gold, `Is' the wise reprover to an attentive ear.एकजना झट्ट बुझ्ने मानिसको निम्ति ज्ञानी मानिसको हप्काई एउटा शुद्ध सुनको औंठी अथवा सब भन्दा राम्रो सुनबाट बनेको अन्यकुनै गहनाहरू जस्तो मूल्यवान हुन्छन्।

13 As a vessel of snow in a day of harvest, `So is' a faithful ambassador to those sending him, And the soul of his masters he refresheth.एक विश्वसनीय दूत संवाद पठाउने मानिसको निम्ति बाली भित्रयाउने समयको गरमदिनको शीतल पानी जस्तै हो उसले उसको मालिकको आत्मालाई पुनः ताजगी गराउँछ।

14 Clouds and wind, and rain there is none, `Is' a man boasting himself in a false gift.कसैले उपहार चढाउँछु भनी प्रतिज्ञा गर्छ तर चढाउँदैन भने त्यो बादल अनि बतास जस्तै हो।

15 By long-suffering is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh a bone.धैर्यपूर्ण कुराले राजालाई शान्त गराउँछ नम्र बोली अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली हुन्छ।

16 Honey thou hast found -- eat thy sufficiency, Lest thou be satiated `with' it, and hast vomited it.मह खानु स्वस्थको लागि असल हो तर यही धेरै खाए मानिस विमारी हुन्छ।

17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house, Lest he be satiated `with' thee, and have hated thee.त्यसरी नै, आफ्नो छिमेकीको घरमा घरी-घरी नजानु नत्र उसले तिमीलाई घृणा गर्न थाल्छ।

18 A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, `Is' the man testifying against his neighbour a false testimony.जसले उसको छिमेकीको विरूद्ध झूटा साक्षी दिन्छ ऊ एउटा लाट्ठी तरवार अथवा एउटा तीखो काडझैं खतरा हुन्छ।

19 A bad tooth, and a tottering foot, `Is' the confidence of the treacherous in a day of adversity.झूटो बोल्ने मानिस माथि कहिल्यै भर नपर्नु, त्यो मानिस कष्टदायी दाँत तथा लङ्गडे खुट्टा जस्तै हो। र आवश्यक्ताको समयमा धोका दिन सक्छ।

20 Whoso is taking away a garment in a cold day, `Is as' vinegar on nitre, And a singer of songs on a sad heart.शोकाकुल मानिसको अघि खुशीयालीको गीत गाउनु जाडो लागेको समयमा कसैको शरीरको लुगा उतारि दिनु जस्तै हो। यो सोडामा सिर्का मिलाउनु जस्तो हो।

21 If he who is hating thee doth hunger, cause him to eat bread, And if he thirst, cause him to drink water.तिम्रो शत्रु पनि भोकाएको भए उसलाई भोजन देऊ र तिर्खाएको भए पानी देऊ।

22 For coals thou art putting on his head, And Jehovah giveth recompense to thee.यदि तिमीले यसो गरयौ भने त्यो मानिस लाजमा पर्नेछ। यो उसको टाउको माथि बल्दै गरेका कोइलाहरू राख्नु बराबर हो अनि परमप्रभुले तिम्रो क्षतिपूर्ति गर्नु हुनेछ।

23 A north wind bringeth forth rain, And a secret tongue -- indignant faces.उत्तरबाट वहने हावाले पानी बर्षाउछ अनि त्यसरी नै निन्दाले क्रोध जगाउँछ।

24 Better to sit on a corner of a roof, Than `with' a woman of contentions, and a house of company.झगडालु स्वभाव भएकी पत्नीसित घरमा वास गर्नु भन्दा छाना माथि बस्नु असल हो।

25 `As' cold waters for a weary soul, So `is' a good report from a far country.टाढा ठाउँ बाट आएको शुभ समाचारहरू त्यत्तिकै शीतल हुन्छ जति गर्मीको दिनमा प्यास र थकित भएर पिएको पानी शीतल हुन्छ।

26 A spring troubled, and a fountain corrupt, `Is' the righteous falling before the wicked.यदि असल मानिस दुर्बल हुन्छ र दुष्ट मानिसलाई पछ्याउँछ भने यो शुद्ध पानीमा फोहर मिसिनु जस्तै हो।

27 The eating of much honey is not good, Nor a searching out of one's own honour -- honour.मह पनि धेरै खाए तितो हुन्छ, त्यसरी नै धेरै मान नखोज।

28 A city broken down without walls, `Is' a man without restraint over his spirit!आफैंले आफैंलाई नियन्त्रणमा राख्न नसक्ने मानिस भत्केको पर्खाल भएको शहर बराबर हो।ज्
