1 And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying, This is what Jehovah hath commanded.मोशाले इस्राएलीहरूका कुलनायक व्यक्तिहरूलाई भने परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नु भएको कुराहरू यही हुन्;

2 If a man vow a vow to Jehovah, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; according to all that hath gone out of his mouth shall he do.“जब एकजना व्यक्तिले परमप्रभुलाई केही चढाउँछु भनी विशेष शपथ गर्छ अथवा परमप्रभुको नाममा केही गर्छु भनी वाचा बन्धन गर्छ भने उसले त्यो शपथ अथवा वाचा बन्धन खेर फाल्नु हुँदैन। उसको मुखबाट निस्केको वचन पुरा गर्नै पर्छ।

3 If a woman also vow a vow to Jehovah, and bind herself by a bond, in her father's house in her youth,“तर केही जवान स्त्री तिनको बाबुको घरमा रहँदा नै परमप्रभुलाई केही चढाउँछु भनी विशेष भाकल गरेकी छे अथवा परमप्रभुको नाममा केही गर्छु भनी वाचा बन्धन खाएकी भए।

4 and her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall be silent at her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.र उसको बाबुले सुनेर पनि केही आफ्त्ति नगरे उसले त्यो आफ्नो भाकल अथवा वाचा बन्धन पुरा गर्नैपर्छ।

5 But if her father prohibited her in the day that he heard, none of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand; and Jehovah shall pardon her, because her father prohibited her.तर यदि तिनका बाबुले यसको बारेमा सुने भने र उनलाई त्यसो गर्नबाट रोके भने, उनले प्रतिज्ञा गरेको कुरा पूरा गर्नु पर्दैन। किनभने उनको बाबुले उनलाई मनाही गरे र परमप्रभुले उनलाई क्षमा दिनेछन्।

6 And if she have a husband, when she hath her vow upon her or ought that hath passed her lips wherewith she hath bound her soul,“अनि यदि तिनी एउटा पतिसित विवाह गरेकी छिन् अनि यस्तो केही गर्ने शपथ अथवा प्रतिज्ञा बनाइन् भने।

7 and her husband hear it and be silent at her in the day that he heareth it, then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.अनि यदि तिनका पतिले यस विषयमा सुनेर र तिनलाई रोक्दैनन् भने, तिनले तिनका भाकलहरू अथवा वाचाहरू गर्नु पर्छ।

8 But if her husband prohibit her on the day that he heareth it, and annul her vow which is upon her, and what hath passed her lips, wherewith she hath bound her soul, then Jehovah shall pardon her.तर उसको लोग्नेले कुनै दिन चाल पाएर विरोध गरे उसको भाकल अथवा वाचा बन्धन भङ्ग हुन्छ अनि परमप्रभुले पनि उसलाई क्षमा दिनुहुन्छ।

9 But the vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, -- everything wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand against her.“विधवा अथवा आफ्नो पतिसित छुटानाम गरेकी स्त्रीले प्रत्येक भाकल वा शपथ पूरा गर्नु नै पर्छ।

10 And if she have vowed in her husband's house, or have bound her soul by an oath with a bond,“तर कुनै विवाह भएकी स्त्रीले आफ्नो पतिको घरमा आएर भाकल गर्छे वा वाचा बन्धन खान्छे

11 and her husband have heard it, and been silent at her, and hath not prohibited her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.अनि उसको लोग्नेले चाल पाएर पनि कुनै विरोध नगरे तब उसको सबै शपथ वा वाचा बन्धन पूरा गर्नुपर्छ।

12 But if her husband have expressly annulled them on the day that he heard them, then nothing of that which is gone out of her lips as to her vows or the bond on her soul, shall stand: her husband hath annulled them; and Jehovah will pardon her.तर यदि उसको लोग्नेले चाल पाएर उसले विरोध गरे उसको शपथ वा वाचा बन्धन त्यहीं अवैद्ध हुन्छ। उसको लोग्नेले विरोध गरेकोले परमप्रभुले उसलाई क्षमा गर्नुहुनेछ।

13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband can establish it, or her husband can annul it.पतिले उसकी पत्नीलाई उसको विरोध गरेर भङ्ग पनि गराउनु सक्छ।

14 And if her husband be altogether silent at her from day to day, then he hath established all her vows or all her bonds which are upon her; he hath confirmed them, for he hath been silent at her in the day that he heard them.यदि पत्नीले गरेको शपथ वा खाएको वाचा बन्धनको विषय लोग्नेले चाल पाएर पनि त्यस दिन विरोध नगरे त्यस स्त्री आफ्नो शपथ वा वाचा बन्धनको प्रत्येक चीज पूरा गर्नु पर्छ। कारण उसले चाल पाएर पनि विरोध गरेको छैन।

15 But if he in any way annul them after he hath heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.तर पत्नी गरेको शपथ वा वाचा बन्धन चाल पाएर पतिले भङ्ग गरी दिन्छ भने शपथ वा वाचा बन्धन भङ्ग गरिदिएकोमा उत्तरदायी तिनको लोग्ने हुनेछ।”

16 These are the statutes, which Jehovah commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, in her youth in her father's house.लोग्ने-पत्नी तथा विवाह पूर्व आफ्नो आमा-बाबुको घरमा बसेकी जवान केटीको विषयमा परमप्रभुले मोशालाई दिनु भएको नियमहरू यिनीहरू नै हुन्।
