तिम्रा पिता-पुर्खाहरूले भनेनन्, ‘परमप्रभुले हामीलाई मिश्र बाहिर ल्याउनु भयो। परमप्रभुले हामीलाई अँध्यारो र जङ्गलको बाटो देखि डोर्याउँदै ल्याउनु भयो। परमप्रभुले हामीलाई सुखा र उजाड भूमिमा डोर्याउन भयो। परमप्रभुले हामीलाई अंन्घकार र भयानक जग्गामा जहाँ कुनै मानिस बस्दैन र जुन ठाउँमा मानिसहरू यात्रा गर्दैनन्। त्यहाँ डोर्याउनु भयो। तिनीहरूले सोधेनन्, ‘परमप्रभु कहाँ हुनुहुन्छ?”“

1 ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులు కూడుకొని ఉత్తరదిక్కునకు పోయినీవు అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయ బోయి నప్పుడు నీతో వచ్చుటకు మమ్ము నేల పిలువ లేదు? నీవు కాపురమున్న నీ యింటిని అగ్నితో కాల్చివేయుదుమని యెఫ్తాతో చెప్పగా
And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
2 యెఫ్తానాకును నా జనులకును అమ్మోనీయులతో గొప్ప కలహము కలిగిన ప్పుడు నేను మిమ్మును పిలిచితిని గాని మీరు వారి చేతులలోనుండి నన్ను రక్షింపలేదు. మీరు నన్ను రక్షింపకపోవుట నేను చూచి
And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
3 నా ప్రాణమును అరచేతిలో ఉంచుకొని అమ్మోనీయు లతో యుద్ధము చేయపోతిని. అప్పుడు యెహోవా వారిని నా చేతి కప్పగించెను గనుక నాతో పోట్లాడుటకు మీరేల నేడు వచ్చితిరనెను.
And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
4 అప్పుడు యెఫ్తా గిలాదువారి నందరిని పోగుచేసికొని ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయగా గిలాదువారు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులను జయించిరి. ఏలయనగా వారుఎఫ్రాయిమీయులకును మనష్షీ యులకును మధ్యను గిలాదువారైన మీరు ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులయెదుట నిలువక పారిపోయిన వారనిరి.
Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
5 ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై గిలాదువారు యొర్దాను దాటు రేవులను పట్టుకొనగా పారిపోయిన ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులలో ఎవడోనన్ను దాటనియ్యుడని చెప్పినప్పుడు గిలాదువారునీవు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుడవా అని అతని నడి గిరి.
And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
7 యెఫ్తా ఆరు సంవత్సరములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయాధిపతియై యుండెను. గిలాదువాడైన యెఫ్తా చనిపోయి గిలాదు పట్టణములలో నొకదానియందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను.
And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
8 అతని తరువాత బేత్లెహేమువాడైన ఇబ్సాను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.
And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.

And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
