Proverbs 25 - BBE (Nepali)

1 These are more wise sayings of Solomon, copied out by the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah.सुलेमानका यी हितोपदेशहरू यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाका नोकरहरूबाट उतारेका हुन्।

2 It is the glory of God to keep a thing secret: but the glory of kings is to have it searched out.परमेश्वरको महिमा चीजहरू लुकाउनु हो अनि राजाको महिमा चीजहरूको जाँच गर्नु हो।

3 The heaven is high and the earth is deep, and the hearts of kings may not be searched out.जसरी स्वर्ग हामी माथि छ र जमीन हामीबाट मुनि त्यसरी नै राजाको मन पनि रहस्य मय हुन्छ हामी बुझ्नै सक्तैनौं।

4 Take away the waste from silver, and a vessel will come out for the silver-worker.यदि चाँदीबाट अशुद्धतालाई निकालिइयो भने शिल्पी सुनारले त्यसबाट सुन्दर गहना बनाउनु सक्छन्।

5 Take away evil-doers from before the king, and the seat of his power will be made strong in righteousness.यस्तै प्रकारले, यदि दुष्ट अनि बेइमान उपदेशकहरूलाई राजाको उपस्थितिबाट हटाइन्छ भने, उसको शासन धर्मीकताद्वारा सुरक्षित हुनेछ।

6 Do not take glory for yourself before the king, and do not put yourself in the place of the great:राजाको अघि घमण्ड नगर, मुख्य मानिसहरूको महत्वपूर्ण स्थान नओगट।

7 For it is better to have it said to you, Come up here; than for you to be put down in a lower place before the ruler.एकजना राजकुमारको सामुनेमा अपमानित हुनु भन्दा राजाले तिमीलाई “यहाँ आइज” भनेको असल हो।

8 Do not be quick to go to law about what you have seen, for what will you do in the end, when your neighbour has put you to shame?न्यायकर्त्तालाई तिमीले देखेको कुरा तत्कालै नभनी हाल। यदि तिमी त्यसो गर्दा अर्को मानिसले तिम्रो कुरोलाई असत्य प्रमाण गरिदिए तिमी अप्ठेरोमा पर्नेछौ।

9 Have a talk with your neighbour himself about your cause, but do not give away the secret of another:तिम्रो कसै सित दुई मत भए आपसमा नै मिलाई हाल अनि साथीको रहस्यको कुरा कसैलाई नभन।

10 Or your hearer may say evil of you, and your shame will not be turned away.यदि तिमीले अर्काको रहस्य खोलिदियौ भने तिमी आफैं लाजमा पर्नेछौ र तिमी माथि लागेको बद्नामी तिमीबाट कहिल्यै मेटिने छैन।

11 A word at the right time is like apples of gold in a network of silver.सही चिज सही समयमा भन्नु एउटा सुनको स्याउ चाँदीको घेरामा जोडेको जस्तै हो।

12 Like a nose-ring of gold and an ornament of the best gold, is a wise man who says sharp words to an ear ready to give attention.एकजना झट्ट बुझ्ने मानिसको निम्ति ज्ञानी मानिसको हप्काई एउटा शुद्ध सुनको औंठी अथवा सब भन्दा राम्रो सुनबाट बनेको अन्यकुनै गहनाहरू जस्तो मूल्यवान हुन्छन्।

13 As the cold of snow in the time of grain-cutting, so is a true servant to those who send him; for he gives new life to the soul of his master.एक विश्वसनीय दूत संवाद पठाउने मानिसको निम्ति बाली भित्रयाउने समयको गरमदिनको शीतल पानी जस्तै हो उसले उसको मालिकको आत्मालाई पुनः ताजगी गराउँछ।

14 As clouds and wind without rain, so is one who takes credit for an offering he has not given.कसैले उपहार चढाउँछु भनी प्रतिज्ञा गर्छ तर चढाउँदैन भने त्यो बादल अनि बतास जस्तै हो।

15 A judge is moved by one who for a long time undergoes wrongs without protest, and by a soft tongue even bone is broken.धैर्यपूर्ण कुराले राजालाई शान्त गराउँछ नम्र बोली अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली हुन्छ।

16 If you have honey, take only as much as is enough for you; for fear that, being full of it, you may not be able to keep it down.मह खानु स्वस्थको लागि असल हो तर यही धेरै खाए मानिस विमारी हुन्छ।

17 Let not your foot be frequently in your neighbour's house, or he may get tired of you, and his feeling be turned to hate.त्यसरी नै, आफ्नो छिमेकीको घरमा घरी-घरी नजानु नत्र उसले तिमीलाई घृणा गर्न थाल्छ।

18 One who gives false witness against his neighbour is a hammer and a sword and a sharp arrow.जसले उसको छिमेकीको विरूद्ध झूटा साक्षी दिन्छ ऊ एउटा लाट्ठी तरवार अथवा एउटा तीखो काडझैं खतरा हुन्छ।

19 Putting one's faith in a false man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a shaking foot.झूटो बोल्ने मानिस माथि कहिल्यै भर नपर्नु, त्यो मानिस कष्टदायी दाँत तथा लङ्गडे खुट्टा जस्तै हो। र आवश्यक्ताको समयमा धोका दिन सक्छ।

20 Like one who takes off clothing in cold weather and like acid on a wound, is he who makes melody to a sad heart.शोकाकुल मानिसको अघि खुशीयालीको गीत गाउनु जाडो लागेको समयमा कसैको शरीरको लुगा उतारि दिनु जस्तै हो। यो सोडामा सिर्का मिलाउनु जस्तो हो।

21 If your hater is in need of food, give him bread; and if he is in need of drink, give him water:तिम्रो शत्रु पनि भोकाएको भए उसलाई भोजन देऊ र तिर्खाएको भए पानी देऊ।

22 For so you will put coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will give you your reward.यदि तिमीले यसो गरयौ भने त्यो मानिस लाजमा पर्नेछ। यो उसको टाउको माथि बल्दै गरेका कोइलाहरू राख्नु बराबर हो अनि परमप्रभुले तिम्रो क्षतिपूर्ति गर्नु हुनेछ।

23 As the north wind gives birth to rain, so is an angry face caused by a tongue saying evil secretly.उत्तरबाट वहने हावाले पानी बर्षाउछ अनि त्यसरी नै निन्दाले क्रोध जगाउँछ।

24 It is better to be living in an angle of the house-top, than with a bitter-tongued woman in a wide house.झगडालु स्वभाव भएकी पत्नीसित घरमा वास गर्नु भन्दा छाना माथि बस्नु असल हो।

25 As cold water to a tired soul, so is good news from a far country.टाढा ठाउँ बाट आएको शुभ समाचारहरू त्यत्तिकै शीतल हुन्छ जति गर्मीको दिनमा प्यास र थकित भएर पिएको पानी शीतल हुन्छ।

26 Like a troubled fountain and a dirty spring, is an upright man who has to give way before evil-doers.यदि असल मानिस दुर्बल हुन्छ र दुष्ट मानिसलाई पछ्याउँछ भने यो शुद्ध पानीमा फोहर मिसिनु जस्तै हो।

27 It is not good to take much honey: so he who is not looking for honour will be honoured.मह पनि धेरै खाए तितो हुन्छ, त्यसरी नै धेरै मान नखोज।

28 He whose spirit is uncontrolled is like an unwalled town which has been broken into.आफैंले आफैंलाई नियन्त्रणमा राख्न नसक्ने मानिस भत्केको पर्खाल भएको शहर बराबर हो।ज्
