तब परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयो, “मोरीयाह भूमिमा तिम्रो छोरोलाई लैजाऊ। मोरीयामा मेरो निम्ति बलिदान स्वरूप तिम्रो छोरो बलि देऊ। तिम्रो छोरो चाँहि इसहाक हुनु पर्छ तिम्रो एउटा छोरा जुन छोरालाई तिमी बढी माया गर्छौ। त्यहाँको कुनै एउटा पर्वतमा तिम्रो छोरोलाई होमबलि चढाऊ। कुन चाँहि पर्वतमा बलिदान चढाउनु पर्छ त्यो म बताउनेछु।”
