यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूले अहज्याहलाई योरामको स्थानमा नयाँ राजा चुने। अहज्याह योरामका कान्छा छोरा थिए। योरामको छाउनीमा आक्रमण गर्न आउने अरबी मानिसहरूसित आएका मानिसहरूले योरामका सबै ठूला छोराहरू मारि दिएका थिए। यसर्थ अहज्याहले यहूदामा शासन गर्न थाले।
