Deuteronomy 19 - BBE (Nepali)

1 When the nations, whose land the Lord your God is giving you, have been cut off by him, and you have taken their place and are living in their towns and in their houses;“अरू जातिका मानिसहरूको भूमि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनु हुँदैछ। परमप्रभुले ती जातिहरूलाई ध्वंश पार्नु हुनेछ। जहाँ ती मानिसहरू बस्थे त्यही तिमीहरू बस्नेछौ। तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूको शहरहरू र घरहरू लिने छौ। जब यस्तो हुन्छ।

2 You are to have three towns marked out in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage.तिमीहरूले भूमिलाई तीन भागमा बाँड्नु पर्छ।

3 You are to make ready a way, and see that the land which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage, is marked out into three parts, to which any taker of life may go in flight.तब प्रत्येक भागमा तिमीहरूले नजिकै भएको एउटा शहर रोज्नु पर्छ। अनि तिनीहरूले ती शहरहरूमा पुग्ने मार्गहरू निर्माण गर्नुपर्छ। तब कुनै मानिस जसले अर्कोको हत्या गर्छ, त्यो भागेर सुरक्षाको निम्ति त्यस शहरमा पुग्न सकोस्।

4 This is to be the rule for anyone who goes in flight there, after causing the death of his neighbour in error and not through hate;“यदि कसैले मानिसको हत्या गर्छ ती शहरहरूमा सुरक्षाको लागि भागेर जानेछ, यो नियम त्यस मानिसहरूका लागि हुनेछ हत्यारा त्यो मानिस हुनुपर्छ जसले अर्को मानिसहरूलाई अचानक मार्छ अनि त्यो मानिस हत्यारा हुन्छ। जसले हत्या गरेको मानिसलाई घृणा गरेको थिएन।

5 For example, if a man goes into the woods with his neighbour for the purpose of cutting down trees, and when he takes his axe to give a blow to the tree, the head of the axe comes off, and falling on to his neighbour gives him a wound causing his death; then the man may go in flight to one of these towns and be safe:यहाँ एउटा उदाहरण छ एकजना मानिस आफ्नो साथीलाई लिएर दाउरा लिन वनमा जान्छ। मानिस रूख काट्न बञ्चरो उठाउँछ तर बञ्चरो बिंडबाट छुट्टिन्छ र अर्को मानिसलाई लाग्छ र उसलाई मार्छ। बञ्चरो चलाउने मानिस तीनवटामध्ये कुनै एउटा शहरमा आफ्नो सुरक्षाको निम्ति भागेर जान सएछ।

6 For if not, he who has the right of punishment may go running after the taker of life in the heat of his wrath, and overtake him because the way is long, and give him a death-blow; though it is not right for him to be put to death because he was not moved by hate.तर यदि शहरहरू निकै टाढा छन् भाग्दै गरेको मानिस त्यहाँ पुग्नु सएदैन अनि पक्राउ पर्छ र हत्या भएको मानिसका रिसाएका आफन्तद्वारा ऊ मारिन सएछ। तर त्यो मानिस मृत्यु पाउने योग्य थिएन किनभने उसले मानिसको हत्या घृणा अथवा रीसले गरेको थिएन।

7 And so I am ordering you to see that three towns are marked out for this purpose.शहरहरू चाँहि प्रत्येकको निम्ति नजिकै हुनुपर्छ, यसैकारण म तिमीहरूलाई तीनवटा विशेष शहरहरू छान्ने आज्ञा दिन्छु।

8 And if the Lord your God makes wide the limits of your land, as he said in his oath to your fathers, and gives you all the land which he undertook to give to your fathers;“परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूलाई त्यो भूमि बढाउने प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भएको थियो। उहाँले तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गर्नु भएको भूमि तिमीहरूलाई दिनुहुन्छ।

9 If you keep and do all these orders which I give you today, loving the Lord your God and walking ever in his ways; then let three more towns, in addition to these three, be marked out for you:यदि तिमीहरूले उहाँका आज्ञाहरू, जो तिमीहरूलाई म आज बताउँदैछु, सबै पालन गर्छौ, अनि यदि तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरसित प्रेम गर्छौ उहाँले भने अनुसार जीवन निर्वाह गर्छौ, उहाँले यसो गर्नु हुनेछ। तब परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूको भूमि विस्तृत पार्नु हुँनेछ, तिमीहरूले सुरक्षाको निम्ति अझै तीनवटा शहरहरू छान्नु पर्छ। यी तीनवटा शहरहरूअघि छानिएका तीनवटासित थपिएका हुनुपर्छ।

10 So that in all your land, which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage, no man may be wrongly put to death, for which you will be responsible.तब परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिंदै गर्नु भएको भूमिमा निर्दोष मानिसहरू मारिने छैनन्। अनि कुनै मृत्युमा तिमीहरू दोषी बनिनु पर्ने छैन।

11 But if any man has hate for his neighbour, and waiting for him secretly makes an attack on him and gives him a blow causing his death, and then goes in flight to one of these towns;“तर एकजना मानिसहले कुनै अर्को मानिसलाई घृणा गर्न सएछ। त्यस मानिसले घृणा गरेको मानिसलाई पर्खेर मार्न लुएन सएछ, उसले त्यस मानिसलाई मार्न सएछ अनि सुरक्षाका शहरमध्ये एउटामा भागेर जान सएछ।

12 The responsible men of his town are to send and take him, and give him up to the one who has the right of punishment to be put to death.यदि यस्तो हुन्छ हत्याराको शहरका बूढा-प्रधानहरू उसलाई सुरक्षाको शहर बाहिर ल्याउन कसैलाई पठाउन सएछन्। ती अगुवाहरूले त्यो मानिसका आफन्तलाई दिनुपर्छ। र त्यसलाई मार्नुपर्छ।

13 Have no pity on him, so that Israel may be clear from the crime of putting a man to death without cause, and it will be well for you.तिमीहरूले त्यसलाई सहानुभूति देखाउनु हुँदैन किनभने त्यो निर्दोष मानिसको हत्यारा हो। तिमीहरूले इस्राएलबाट त्यस्तो दोष बाहिर निकाल्नु पर्छ, तब मात्र तिमीहरूको निम्ति प्रत्येक चीज असल हुनेछ।सम्पत्तिको साँध-सीमाना

14 Your neighbour's landmark, which was put in its place by the men of old times, is not to be moved or taken away in the land of your heritage which the Lord your God is giving you.“तिमीहरूले आफ्ना छिमेकीको सम्पत्तिको साँध-सीमाना छुट्टाउने ढुङ्गाहरू हटाउनु हुँदैन। उहिले मानिसहरूले सीमाना छुट्टाउन त्यसरी ढुङ्गाहरू लगाउँथे। ती ढुङ्गाहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले दिनु भएको भूमिमा सीमाना छुट्टाउँछन्।

15 One witness may not make a statement against a man in relation to any sin or wrongdoing which he has done: on the word of two or three witnesses a question is to be judged.“यदि कुनै मानिस व्यवस्था विरोधी कार्य गरेकोमा दोषी भए उसको दोष प्रमाण गर्न एक जना गवाही पर्याप्त हुँदैन। त्यस मानिसले साँच्चै दोष गरेको प्रमाणित गर्न दुई अथवा तीनजना गवाहीहरू चाहिन्छन्।

16 If a false witness makes a statement against a man, saying that he has done wrong,“कसैलाई चोट पुर्याउने अभिप्रायले एक जना मानिस झूठो साक्षी दिनु अघि आउनु सएछ।

17 Then the two men, between whom the argument has taken place, are to come before the Lord, before the priests and judges who are then in power;यदि यस्तो भएका खण्डमा ती दुवै मानिस परमप्रभुको विशेष मन्दिरमा पूजाहारीहरू र न्यायकर्त्ताहरू जो त्यस समयमा कार्यमा छन्, तिनीहरूको अघि गई न्याय पाउन सएछन्।

18 And the judges will have the question looked into with care: and if the witness is seen to be false and to have made a false statement against his brother,न्यायकर्त्ताहरूले सावधानीसँग झगडामा कसको कसूर छ गहिरिएर खोज्नु पर्छ र तिनीहरूले पत्तो लगाउन सएछन कतै गवाहीले झूटो बोलेको हो कि? यदि गवाही झूटो बोलेको पाए,

19 Then do to him what it was his purpose to do to his brother: and so put away the evil from among you.तिमीहरूले त्यसलाई सजाय दिनु नै पर्छ। त्यस गवाहीलाई त्यही सजाय दिनु पर्छ जुन सजाय उसले अर्को मानिसलाई दिन चाहन्थ्यो। यस प्रकारले तिमीहरूले आफ्ना समूहबाट दुष्टता हटाउँनेछौ।

20 And the rest of the people, hearing of it, will be full of fear, and never again do such evil among you.अरू मानिसहरूले पनि त्यस मानिसले पनि त्यस मानिसले गरेको दुष्कर्मको प्रतिफल थाहा पाउँछन् र फेरि त्यस्तो दुष्कर्म गर्ने साहस गर्दैनन्।

21 Have no pity; let life be given for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.“तिमीहरूले त्यस मानिसप्रति सहानुभूति देखाउनु हुँदैन जसले अपराध गरेको हुन्छ जति बेला उसलाई सजाय दिइन्छ। यदि कसैको ज्यान लिन्छ भने उसको जीवन पनि शेष पार्नुपर्छ। नियम छ आँखाको सट्टा आँखा, दाँतको सट्टा दाँत, हातको सट्टा हात र खुट्टाको सट्टा खुट्टा हुनेछ।
