1 After these things, he went away from Athens, and came to Corinth.पछि, पावलले एथेन्स छोडे अनि कोरिन्थ गए।

2 And there he came across a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by birth, who not long before had come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had given orders that all Jews were to go away from Rome: and he came to them;तिनले त्यहाँ अक्वीला नाउँ भएको एकजना यहूदी भेटे। अक्वीला पोन्टस भन्ने प्रदेशमा जन्मिएका थिए। तर उनी र उनकी पत्नी प्रिस्किला भर्खरै इटालीबाट कोरिन्थ आइपुगेका थिए किनभने क्लौडियसले सबै रोम छोडनु पर्छ भन्ने आदेश गरेका थिए। पावल तिनीहरूलाई भेट्न गए।

3 And because he was of the same trade, he was living with them, and they did their work together; for by trade they were tent-makers.तिनीहरूले पावलले जस्तै तम्बू बनाउने काम गथेर्। पावल तिनीहरू संगै बसे र तिनीहरूसंग तम्बू बनाउने काम गरे।

4 And every Sabbath he had discussions in the Synagogue, turning Jews and Greeks to the faith.प्रत्येक विश्रामको दिन पावल सभाघरमा यहूदीहरू र ग्रीकहरूसंग कुरा गर्थे। तिनले येशूमा विश्वास पार्न लगातार तिनीहरूमाथि प्रयत्न गरिरहे।

5 And when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was completely given up to the word, preaching to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.सिलास र तिमोथी म्यासिडोनियाबाट पावललाई भेट्न कोरिन्थमा आए। त्यसपछि आफ्नो समय मानिसहरूलाई सुसमाचार भन्नमा बिताए। उनले यहूदीहरूलाई येशू नै ख्रीष्ट हुन भनेर देखाए।

6 And when they put themselves against him, and said evil words, he said, shaking his clothing, Your blood be on your heads, I am clean: from now I will go to the Gentiles.तर यहूदीहरूले पावलको शिक्षाहरू ग्रहण गरेनन्। यहूदीहरले एगदमै निन्दनीय वचनहरू लगाए। यसकारण पावलले आफ्नो लुगाहरूबाट धुला झारे। उनले यहूदीहरूलाई भने, “यदी तिमीहरू मुक्ति चाँहदैनौ भने, त्यो तिमीहरूकै गल्ती हुनेछ! मैले आफूले सक्दो गरें। अब म गैर-यहूदीहरूकहाँ जानेछू।”

7 And moving from there, he went into the house of a man named Titus Justus, a God-fearing man, whose house was very near the Synagogue.पावल सभाघरबाट बिदा लिए अनि टाइटस जुसटस नाउँ भएको मानिसको घरमा गए। त्यस मानिस सत्य परमेश्वरको पूजाहारी थियो। उसको घर सभाघरकै अर्कोपट्टि थियो।

8 And Crispus, the ruler of the Synagogue, with all his family, had faith in the Lord; and a great number of the people of Corinth, hearing the word, had faith and were given baptism.क्रिस्पस सभाघरको प्रमुख थिए। क्रिस्पस र अन्य सबै मानिसहरू जो उनको घरमा बस्दथे उनीहरूले प्रभुमा विश्वास गरे। कोरिन्थका धेरै मानिसहरूले पनि पावल को समाचार गरे। कोरिन्थका धेरै मानिसहरूले पनि पावलको समाचार ध्यान लगाएर सुने अनि विश्वास गरे अनि बप्तिस्मा लिए।

9 And the Lord said to Paul in the night, in a vision, Have no fear and go on preaching:राति पावलले दर्शन पाए। यो दर्शनमा प्रभुले तिनलाई भने, “नडराऊ! लगातार मानिसहरूसंग बोलिरहौ! नरोक!

10 For I am with you, and no one will make an attack on you to do you damage: for I have a number of people in this town.म तिमीसंग छु। तिमीलाई नोक्सान पार्न कुनै प्रयत्न सफल हुदैंन। मेरा धेरै मानिसहरू यस शहरमा छन्।”

11 And he was there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.पावल त्यहाँ डेढ र्वषसम्म बसे, अनि तिनीहरू माझ परमेश्वरको वचनको शिक्षा दिए।

12 But when Gallio was ruler of Achaia, all the Jews together made an attack on Paul, and took him to the judge's seat,गल्लियो अखैया अञ्चलका राज्यपाल भए। कोही यहूदीहरूले उनीसित नयायलयमा लगे।

13 Saying, This man is teaching the people to give worship to God in a way which is against the law.यहूदीहरूले गल्लियोलाई भने, “यस मानिसले हाम्रो कानूनको विरुद्ध ईश्वर पूज्नु भनेर मानिसहरूलाई फकाउने चेष्टा गर्दैछ!”

14 But when Paul was about to say something, Gallio said to the Jews, If this was anything to do with wrongdoing or crime, there would be a reason for me to give you a hearing:पावलले केही भन्न लागेका थिए तर गल्लियोले यहूदीहरूलाई भने, “यदि यी कुराहरू गल्ती अथवा अपराधपूर्ण कामका भए म तिमीहरूका कुरा सुन्ने थिएँ।

15 But if it is a question of words or names or of your law, see to it yourselves; I will not be a judge of such things.तर यी शब्दहरू, नाउँहरू र तिमीहरूकै व्यवस्था विषयको हो। यसर्थ यी समस्याहरू तिमीहरू आफैं मिलाऊ। म त्यस्ता प्रकारका कुराहरूमा न्यायकर्ता हुन चाहन्न।”

16 And he sent them away from the judge's seat.तब तिनीहरूलाई गल्लियोले न्यायलयबाट विदा दिए।

17 And they all made an attack on Sosthenes, the ruler of the Synagogue, and gave him blows before the judge's seat; but Gallio gave no attention to these things.तब तिनीहरूले सभाघरका अध्यक्ष सोस्थेनिजलाई पक्रे अनि न्यायलय सामुन्ने तिनलाई कुटे। तर गल्लियोले यसमा केही चासो देखाएन।

18 And Paul, after waiting some days, went away from the brothers and went by ship to Syria, Priscilla and Aquila being with him; and he had had his hair cut off in Cenchrea, for he had taken an oath.पावल दाज्यु-भाइहरूसंग धेरै दिन बसे। त्यपछि विदा लिएर जलपथबाट सिरिया गए। प्रिस्किला र अक्वीला पनि तिनीसँगै थिए। किंक्रियामा परमेश्वरसंग आफ्नो प्रतिज्ञा पुरा गर्न पावलले आफ्नो केश कटाए।

19 And they came down to Ephesus and he left them there: and he himself went into the Synagogue and had a discussion with the Jews.त्यसपछि तिनीहरू एफिसस्‌मा गए। त्यहाँ तिनले प्रिस्किला र अक्वीलालाई छाडी राखे। तिनी एफिसस्‌मा हुँदा सभाघरमा गए अनि यहूदीहरूसंग बात गरे।

20 And being requested by them to be there for a longer time, he said, No;तिनीहरूले पावललाई अझै केही दिन सम्म बस्ने आग्रह गरे तर तिनले मानेनन्।

21 And went from them, saying, I will come back to you if God lets me; and he took ship from Ephesus.पावलले विदा लिएर हिंड्ने बेलामा भने, “यदि परमेश्वरको इच्छा भयो भने म तपाईंहरूकोमा आउनेछु।” अनि तिनी एफिससबाट जल यात्रा गरेर गए।

22 And when he had come to land at Caesarea, he went to see the church, and then went down to Antioch.पावल सिजरिया शहरमा गए। तब मण्डलीलाई अभिवादन गर्न उनी यरूशलेम सम्म गए अनि तब एन्टिओक झरे।

23 And having been there for some time, he went through the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, making the disciples strong in the faith.त्यहाँ तिनी केही समय बसे। त्यसपछि त्यहाँबाट तिनी गलातिया र फ्रिगिया प्रदेशहरूमा गए। अनि चेलाहरूको उत्साह बढाए।

24 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, and a man of learning, came to Ephesus; and he had great knowledge of the holy Writings.अपोल्लस नाउँ भएको एकजना यहूदी एफिससमा आए। उनी एलेक्जेन्ड्रिया भन्ने शहरमा जन्मिएका थिए। उनी एक विद्वान मानिस थिए। उनलाई धर्मशास्त्रमाथि राम्रो ज्ञान थियो।

25 This man had been trained in the way of the Lord; and burning in spirit, he gave himself up to teaching the facts about Jesus, though he had knowledge only of John's baptism:उनले प्रभुको मार्गको विषयमा राम्ररी सिकेका थिए अनि पुरा उत्साहित थिए। येशूका विषयमा उनले जे जति कुरा गरे सबै सही थियो। तर उनले यूहन्नाले बातएको बप्तिस्माको विषयमा मात्र जान्दथे।

26 And he was preaching in the Synagogue without fear. But Priscilla and Aquila, hearing his words, took him in, and gave him fuller teaching about the way of God.उनी सभाघरमा निर्धक्क बोल्न थाले। प्रिस्किला र अक्वीलाले उनले भनेको सुने। तिनीहरूले उनलाई आफ्नो घरमा लगे अनि परमश्वरको बाटोको विषयमा उनलाई अझ स्पष्ट पारेर बुझाई दिए।

27 And when he had a desire to go over into Achaia, the brothers gave him help, and sent letters to the disciples requesting them to take him in among them: and when he had come, he gave much help to those who had faith through grace:अपोल्लस अखैया देशमा जान इच्छुक थिए। यसैले एफिससका दाज्युभाइहरूले उनलाई सहयोग गरे। अखैयामा भएका येशूका चेलाहरूलाई तिनीहरूले त्यहाँ अपोल्लासलाई ग्रहण गर्नु भनि चिट्ठी लेखे. अखैयामा प्रभुको अनुग्रहले गर्दा येशू प्रति यी चेलाहरूको विश्वास थियो अनि अपोल्लस तिनीहरूको ठूलो सहायक बने।

28 For he overcame the Jews in public discussion, making clear from the holy Writings that the Christ was Jesus.उनले सबै मानिसहरूका समक्ष यहूदीहरूको विरोधमा वहस गरे। अपोल्लासले प्रत्यक्ष यहूदीहरू गल्ती भएको प्रमाण गरे। उनले धर्मशास्त्रको आधारमा येशू नै ख्रीष्ट हुन भन्ने प्रमाण दिए
