Psalm 81 in Tamil

1 நம்முடைய பெலனாகிய தேவனைக் கம்பீரமாய்ப் பாடி, யாக்கோபின் தேவனைக்குறித்து ஆர்ப்பரியுங்கள். Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2 தம்புரு வாசித்து, வீணையையும் இனிய ஓசையான சுரமண்டலத்தையும் எடுத்து, சங்கீதம் பாடுங்கள். Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3 மாதப்பிறப்பிலும், நியமித்தகாலத்திலும், நம்முடைய பண்டிகைநாட்களிலும், எக்காளம் ஊதுங்கள். Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4 இது இஸ்ரவேலுக்குப் பிரமாணமும் யாக்கோபின் தேவன் விதித்த நியாயமுமாயிருக்கிறது. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

5 நாம் அறியாத பாஷையைக் கேட்ட எகிப்துதேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுகையில், இதை யோசேப்பிலே சாட்சியாக ஏற்படுத்தினார். This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

6 அவன் தோளைச் சுமைக்கு விலக்கினேன்; அவன் கைகள் கூடைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கப்பட்டது. I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

7 நெருக்கத்திலே நீ கூப்பிட்டாய், நான் உன்னைத் தப்புவித்தேன்; இடிமுழக்கம் உண்டாகும் மறைவிடத்திலிருந்து உனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினேன்; மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர்களிடத்தில் உன்னைச் சோதித்து அறிந்தேன். (சேலா.) Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8 என் ஜனமே கேள், உனக்குச் சாட்சியிட்டுச் சொல்லுவேன்; இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும். Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

9 உனக்குள் வேறு தேவன் உண்டாயிருக்கவேண்டாம்; அந்நிய தேவனை நீ நமஸ்கரிக்கவும் வேண்டாம். There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 உன்னை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே; உன் வாயை விரிவாய்த் திற, நான் அதை நிரப்புவேன். I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 என் ஜனமோ என் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை, இஸ்ரவேல் என்னை விரும்பவில்லை. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12 ஆகையால் அவர்களை அவர்கள் இருதயத்தின் கடினத்திற்கு விட்டுவிட்டேன்; தங்கள் யோசனைகளின்படி நடந்தார்கள். So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13 ஆ, என் ஜனம் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து இஸ்ரவேல் என் வழிகளில் நடந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்! Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 நான் சீக்கிரத்தில் அவர்கள் எதிராளிகளைத் தாழ்த்தி, என் கையை அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்புவேன். I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரைப் பகைக்கிறவர்கள் அவருக்கு இச்சகம் பேசி அடங்குவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய காலம் என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கும். The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16 உச்சிதமான கோதுமையினால் அவர்களைப் போஷிப்பார்; கன்மலையின் தேனினால் உன்னைத் திருப்தியாக்குவேன். He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

2 Thampuru vaasiththu, veennaiyaiyum iniya osaiyaana suramanndalaththaiyum eduththu, sangaீtham paadungal. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3 Maathappirappilum, niyamiththakaalaththilum, nammutaiya panntikainaatkalilum, ekkaalam oothungal. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4 Ithu isravaelukkup piramaanamum yaakkopin Dhevan vithiththa niyaayamumaayirukkirathu. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

5 Naam ariyaatha paashaiyaik kaetta ekipthuthaesaththaivittup purappadukaiyil, ithai yoseppilae saatchiyaaka aerpaduththinaar. This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

7 Nerukkaththilae nee kooppittay, naan unnaith thappuviththaen; itimulakkam unndaakum maraividaththilirunthu unakku uththaravu arulinaen; maeripaavin thannnneerkalidaththil unnaich sothiththu arinthaen. 8 En janamae kael, unakkuch saatchiyittuch solluvaen; isravaelae, nee enakkuch sevikoduththaal nalamaayirukkum. Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

9 Unakkul vaeraு Dhevan unndaayirukkavaenndaam; anniya thaevanai nee namaskarikkavum vaenndaam. There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 Unnai ekipthuthaesaththilirunthu purappadappannnnina un thaevanaakiya Karththar naanae; un vaayai virivaayth thira, naan athai nirappuvaen. I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 En janamo en saththaththukkuch sevikodukkavillai, Israel ennai virumpavillai. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12 Aakaiyaal avarkalai avarkal iruthayaththin katinaththirku vittuvittaேn; thangal yosanaikalinpati nadanthaarkal. So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13 Aa, en janam enakkuch sevikoduththu Israel en valikalil nadanthaal nalamaayirukkum! Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 Naan seekkiraththil avarkal ethiraalikalaith thaalththi, en kaiyai avarkal saththurukkalukku virothamaakath thiruppuvaen. I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 Appoluthu karththaraip pakaikkiravarkal avarukku ichchakam paesi adanguvaarkal; avarkalutaiya kaalam ententaikkum irukkum. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16 Uchchithamaana kothumaiyinaal avarkalaip poshippaar; kanmalaiyin thaeninaal unnaith thirupthiyaakkuvaen. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
