1 இந்த நடபடிகளுக்குப்பின்பு, ராஜாவாகிய அகாஸ்வேரு அம்மெதாத்தாவின் குமாரனாகிய ஆமான் என்னும் ஆகாகியனை மேன்மைப்படுத்தி, தன்னிடத்திலிருக்கிற சகல பிரபுக்களுக்கும் மேலாக அவனுடைய ஆசனத்தை உயர்த்திவைத்தான். After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

2 ஆகையால் ராஜாவின் அரமனை வாசலிலிருக்கிற ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரரெல்லாரும் ஆமானை வணங்கி நமஸ்கரித்து வந்தார்கள்; அவனுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று ராஜா கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தான்; ஆனாலும் மொர்தெகாய் அவனை வணங்கவுமில்லை, நமஸ்கரிக்கவுமில்லை. And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

3 அப்பொழுது ராஜாவின் அரமனை வாசலிலிருக்கிற ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் மொர்தெகாயைப் பார்த்து: நீ ராஜாவின் கட்டளையை மீறுகிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டார்கள். Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment?

4 இப்படி அவர்கள் நாளுக்குநாள் அவனுடனே சொல்லியும், அவன் தங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாதபோது, தான் யூதனென்று அவன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்திருந்தபடியால், மொர்தெகாயின் சொற்கள் நிலைநிற்குமோ என்று பார்க்கிறதற்கு அதை ஆமானுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள். Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5 ஆமான் மொர்தெகாய் தன்னை வணங்கி நமஸ்கரியாததைக் கண்டபோது, மூர்க்கம் நிறைந்தவனானான். And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

6 ஆனாலும் மொர்தெகாயின்மேல் மாத்திரம் கைபோடுவது அவனுக்கு அற்பக் காரியமாகக் கண்டது; மொர்தெகாயின் ஜனங்கள் இன்னாரென்று ஆமானுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தபடியால் அகாஸ்வேருவின் ராஜ்யமெங்கும் இருக்கிற மொர்தெகாயின் ஜனமாகிய யூதரையெல்லாம் சங்கரிக்க அவன் வகைதேடினான். And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

7 ராஜாவாகிய அகாஸ்வேருவின் பன்னிரண்டாம் வருஷம் நிசான் மாதமாகிய முதலாம் மாதத்திலே ஆமானுக்கு முன்பாகப் பூர் என்னப்பட்ட சீட்டு ஒவ்வொரு நாளையும் ஒவ்வொருமாதத்தையும் குறித்துப் போடப்பட்டு, ஆதார் மாதமான பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தது. In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.

8 அப்பொழுது ஆமான் அகாஸ்வேரு ராஜாவை நோக்கி உம்முடைய ராஜ்யத்தின் சகல நாடுகளிலுமுள்ள ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே ஒருவித ஜனங்கள் சிதறுண்டு பரம்பியிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய வழக்கங்கள் சகல ஜனங்களுடைய வழக்கங்களுக்கும் விகற்பமாயிருக்கிறது; அவர்கள் ராஜாவின் கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை; ஆகையால் அவர்களை இப்படி விட்டிருக்கிறது ராஜாவுக்கு நியாயமல்ல. And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them.

9 ராஜாவுக்குச் சம்மதியானால், அவர்களை அழிக்கவேண்டுமென்று எழுதி அனுப்பவேண்டியது; அப்பொழுது நான் ராஜாவின் கஜானாவிலே கொண்டுவந்து செலுத்த பதினாயிரம் தாலந்து வெள்ளியை எண்ணிக் காரியக்காரர் கையில்கொடுப்பேன் என்றான். If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

10 அப்பொழுது ராஜா தன் கையிலிருக்கிற தன் மோதிரத்தைக் கழற்றி, அதை ஆகாகியனான அம்மெதாத்தாவின் குமாரனும் யூதரின் சத்துருவுமாகிய ஆமானிடத்தில் கொடுத்து, And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.

11 ஆமானை நோக்கி: அந்த வெள்ளியை நீ வைத்துக்கொள்; அந்த ஜனத்துக்கு உன் இஷ்டப்படி செய்யலாம் என்றான். And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.

12 முதலாம் மாதம் பதின்மூன்றாந்தேதியிலே, ராஜாவின் சம்பிரதிகள் அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆமான் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் ராஜாவின் தேசாதிபதிகளுக்கும், ஒவ்வொரு நாட்டின்மேல் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த துரைகளுக்கும், ஒவ்வொரு ஜனத்தின் பிரபுக்களுக்கும், அந்தந்த நாட்டில் வழங்கும் அட்சரத்திலும், அந்தந்த ஜாதியார் பேசும் பாஷையிலும் எழுதப்பட்டது; ராஜாவாகிய அகாஸ்வேருவின்பேரால் அது எழுதப்பட்டு, ராஜாவின் மோதிரத்தினால் முத்திரை போடப்பட்டது. Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.

13 ஆதார் மாதமான பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதம் பதின்முன்றாந்தேதியாகிய ஒரேநாளிலே சிறியோர் பெரியோர் குழந்தைகள் ஸ்திரீகள் ஆகிய சகல யூதரையும் அழித்துக் கொன்று நிர்மூலமாக்கவும் அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிடவும், அஞ்சற்காரர் கையிலே ராஜாவின் நாடுகளுக்கெல்லாம் கட்டளைகள் அனுப்பப்பட்டது. And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

14 அந்த நாளுக்கு ஆயத்தப்பட்டிருக்கவேண்டும் என்று சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் கூறி அறிவிக்கிறதற்காகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட கட்டளையின் நகல் இதுவே, இது ஒவ்வொரு நாட்டிலும் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டது. The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.

15 அந்த அஞ்சற்காரர் ராஜாவின் உத்தரவினால் தீவிரமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அந்தக் கட்டளை சூசான் அரமனையில் பிறந்தது. ராஜாவும் ஆமானும் குடிக்கும்படி உட்கார்ந்தார்கள்; சூசான் நகரம் கலங்கிற்று. The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

1 Intha nadapatikalukkuppinpu, raajaavaakiya akaasvaeru ammethaaththaavin kumaaranaakiya aamaan ennum aakaakiyanai maenmaippaduththi, thannidaththilirukkira sakala pirapukkalukkum maelaaka avanutaiya aasanaththai uyarththivaiththaan. After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

2 Aakaiyaal raajaavin aramanai vaasalilirukkira raajaavin ooliyakkaararellaarum aamaanai vanangi namaskariththu vanthaarkal; avanukku ippatich seyyavaenndum entu raajaa kattalaiyittirunthaan; aanaalum morthekaay avanai vanangavumillai, namaskarikkavumillai. And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

3 Appoluthu raajaavin aramanai vaasalilirukkira raajaavin ooliyakkaarar morthekaayaip paarththu: nee raajaavin kattalaiyai meeraுkirathu enna entu kaettarkal. Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment?

4 Ippati avarkal naalukkunaal avanudanae solliyum, avan thangalukkuch sevikodaathapothu, thaan yoothanentu avan avarkalukku ariviththirunthapatiyaal, morthekaayin sorkal nilainirkumo entu paarkkiratharku athai aamaanukku ariviththaarkal. Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

6 Aanaalum morthekaayinmael maaththiram kaipoduvathu avanukku arpak kaariyamaakak kanndathu; morthekaayin janangal innaarentu aamaanukku arivikkappattirunthapatiyaal akaasvaeruvin raajyamengum irukkira morthekaayin janamaakiya yootharaiyellaam sangarikka avan vakaithaetinaan. 7 Raajaavaakiya akaasvaeruvin panniranndaam varusham nisaan maathamaakiya muthalaam maathaththilae aamaanukku munpaakap poor ennappatta seettu ovvoru naalaiyum ovvorumaathaththaiyum kuriththup podappattu, aathaar maathamaana panniranndaam maathaththinmael vilunthathu. If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

11 Aamaanai Nnokki: antha velliyai nee vaiththukkol; antha janaththukku un ishdappati seyyalaam entan. And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.

12 Muthalaam maatham pathinmoontanthaethiyilae, raajaavin sampirathikal alaikkappattarkal; aamaan karpiththapatiyellaam raajaavin thaesaathipathikalukkum, ovvoru naattinmael vaikkappattiruntha thuraikalukkum, ovvoru janaththin pirapukkalukkum, anthantha naattil valangum atcharaththilum, anthantha jaathiyaar paesum paashaiyilum eluthappattathu; raajaavaakiya akaasvaeruvinpaeraal athu eluthappattu, raajaavin mothiraththinaal muththirai podappattathu. 13 Aathaar maathamaana panniranndaam maatham pathinmuntanthaethiyaakiya oraenaalilae siriyor periyor kulanthaikal sthireekal aakiya sakala yootharaiyum aliththuk kontu nirmoolamaakkavum avarkalaik kollaiyidavum, anjarkaarar kaiyilae raajaavin naadukalukkellaam kattalaikal anuppappattathu. 15 Antha anjarkaarar raajaavin uththaravinaal theeviramaayp purappattupponaarkal; anthak kattalai soosaan aramanaiyil piranthathu. Raajaavum aamaanum kutikkumpati utkaarnthaarkal; soosaan nakaram kalangittaு. The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
