യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഏർ, ഓനാൻ, ശേലാ; ഇവർ മൂവരും കനാന്യസ്ത്രീയായ ബത്ശൂവയിൽനിന്നു അവന്നു ജനിച്ചു. യെഹൂദയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനായ ഏർ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവനെ കൊന്നു.
