Psalm 35
1 യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു വാദിക്കുന്നവരോടു വാദിക്കേണമേ; എന്നോടു പൊരുതുന്നവരോടു പെരുതേണമേ.
2 നീ പലകയും പരിചയും പിടിച്ചു എനിക്കു സഹായത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കേണമേ.
3 നീ കുന്തം ഊരി എന്നെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരുടെ വഴി അടെച്ചുകളയേണമേ; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ രക്ഷയാകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനോടു പറയേണമേ.
4 എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവർക്കു ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും വരട്ടെ; എനിക്കു അനർത്ഥം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവർ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു നാണിച്ചു പോകട്ടെ.
5 അവർ കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പിലെ പതിർപോലെ ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ അവരെ ഓടിക്കട്ടെ.
6 അവരുടെ വഴി ഇരുട്ടും വഴുവഴുപ്പും ആകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ അവരെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.
7 കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവർ എനിക്കായി വല ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു; കാരണം കൂടാതെ അവർ എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നായി കുഴി കുഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
8 അവൻ വിചാരിയാതെ അവന്നു അപായം ഭവിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ച വലയിൽ അവൻ തന്നേ കുടുങ്ങട്ടെ; അവൻ അപായത്തിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടുപോകട്ടെ.
9 എന്റെ ഉള്ളം യഹോവയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കും; അവന്റെ രക്ഷയിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കും;
10 യഹോവേ, നിനക്കു തുല്യൻ ആർ? എളിയവനെ തന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനുമായവനെ കവർച്ചക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും നീ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ അസ്ഥികൾ ഒക്കെയും പറയും.
11 കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷികൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത കാര്യം എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു.
12 അവർ എനിക്കു നന്മെക്കു പകരം തിന്മചെയ്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു അനാഥത്വം വരുത്തുന്നു.
13 ഞാനോ, അവർ ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നപ്പോൾ രട്ടുടുത്തു; ഉപവാസംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ആത്മതപനം ചെയ്തു; എന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന എന്റെ മാർവ്വിടത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.
14 അവൻ എനിക്കു സ്നേഹിതനോ സഹോദരനോ എന്നപോലെ ഞാൻ പെരുമാറി; അമ്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ ദുഃഖിച്ചു കുനിഞ്ഞുനടന്നു.
15 അവരോ എന്റെ വീഴ്ചയിങ്കൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചു കൂട്ടംകൂടി; ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത അധമന്മാർ എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി കൂടിവന്നു. അവർ ഇടവിടാതെ എന്നെ പഴിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
16 അടിയന്തരങ്ങളിൽ കോമാളികളായ വഷളന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അവർ എന്റെ നേരെ പല്ലു കടിക്കുന്നു.
17 കർത്താവേ, നീ എത്രത്തോളം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും? അവരുടെ നാശത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജിവനെയും വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.
18 ഞാൻ മഹാസഭയിൽ നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും; ബഹുജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും.
19 വെറുതെ എനിക്കു ശത്രുക്കളായവർ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ; കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവർ കണ്ണിമെക്കയുമരുതേ.
20 അവർ സമാധാനവാക്കു സംസാരിക്കാതെ ദേശത്തിലെ സാധുക്കളുടെ നേരെ വ്യാജകാര്യങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.
21 അവർ എന്റെ നേരെ വായ്പിളർന്നു: നന്നായി, ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തകണ്ണാൽ കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 യഹോവേ, നീ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ; മൌനമായിരിക്കരുതേ; കർത്താവേ, എന്നോടകന്നിരിക്കരുതേ,
23 എന്റെ ദൈവവും എന്റെ കർത്താവുമായുള്ളോവേ, ഉണർന്നു എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിന്നും വ്യവഹാരത്തിന്നും ജാഗരിക്കേണമേ.
24 എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നീതിപ്രകാരം എനിക്കു ന്യായം പാലിച്ചു തരേണമേ; അവർ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കരുതേ.
25 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ: നന്നായി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആഗ്രഹം സാധിച്ചു എന്നു പറയരുതേ; ഞങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നും പറയരുതേ.
26 എന്റെ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിയക്കുന്നവർ ഒരുപോലെ ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ, എന്റെ നേരെ വമ്പുപറയുന്നവർ ലജ്ജയും അപമാനവും ധരിക്കട്ടെ.
27 എന്റെ നീതിയിൽ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നവർ ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കട്ടെ. തന്റെ ദാസന്റെ ശ്രേയസ്സിൽ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ മഹത്വമുള്ളവൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവർ എപ്പോഴും പറയട്ടെ.
28 എന്റെ നാവു നിന്റെ നീതിയെയും നാളെല്ലാം നിന്റെ സ്തുതിയെയും വർണ്ണിക്കും.
1 A Psalm of David.
2 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
3 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
4 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
5 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
6 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them.
7 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them.
8 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
9 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
10 And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
11 All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
12 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
13 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
14 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
15 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.
16 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
17 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
18 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
19 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
20 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
21 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
22 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
23 This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
24 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
25 Judge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
26 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
27 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
28 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
29 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Proverbs 15 in Tamil and English
1 नम्र तथा कोमल वचनले क्रोध शान्त गराउँछ भने कठोर वचनले क्रोधलाई अझ उत्तेजित पार्छ।
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 ज्ञानीको जिब्रोले ज्ञानलाई आनन्दप्रद बनाउँछ, अनि मूर्खको मुखबाट खाली मूर्खता नै बाहिरिन्छ।
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 परमप्रभुको नजर प्रत्येक कुनामा पुगेको हुन्छ। उहाँ खराब असल देखिरहनु भएको हुन्छ।
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 जुन वचनले मनको घाउ शान्ति पार्छ त्यो जीवन बृक्ष हो, तर छलपूर्ण वचनले आत्मालाई आघात पुर्याउँछ।
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5 मूर्खले आफ्नो बाबुले दिएको सजायलाई हेला गर्छ, तर जसले सुधारका कुरालाई ध्यान दिएर सुन्छ ऊ ज्ञानी हुनेछ।
A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6 धर्मी मानिसको घरमा प्रशस्त धन हुन्छ, तर दुष्ट मानिसको कमाइले कष्ट मात्र निम्तियाँछ।
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 बुद्धिमानीको वचनले ज्ञान फैलाउँछन् तर मूर्ख हृदयले त्यस्तो काम गर्दैन।
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 एउटा अन्यायी मानिसले चढाएको बलिदानलाई परमप्रभुले घृणा गर्नु हुन्छ तर ईमान्दारीसित व्यवहार गर्ने मानिसको प्रार्थनासित उहाँ खुशी हुनुहुन्छ।
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 दुष्ट मानिसको मार्गलाई परमप्रभुले घृणा गर्नु हुन्छ तर जो मानिस न्यायीक र इमान्दारी हुन संघर्ष गर्छ, त्यसलाई उहाँले प्रेम गर्नु हुन्छ।
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10 जुन मानिसले सही मार्ग अपनाउँदैन उसलाई कठोर सजायले अपेक्षा गरिरहेको हुन्छ, अनि जसले सुधारलाई घृणा गर्छ त्यो निश्चय नै मर्छ।
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 परमप्रभुले प्रत्येक कुरा जान्नु हुन्छ, मृत्युको संसार नै उहाँको सामुन्ने रहेकोछ। यसर्थ मानिसको हृदयमा के छ उहाँ सबै जान्नु हुन्छ।
Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
12 मूर्खले उसलाई कसैले सुधारेको मन पराउँदैन। यसर्थ त्यो बुद्धिमान मानिसबाट सल्लाह लिन जाँदैन।
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
13 एउटा खुशी हृदयले अनुहारमा उज्यालो झल्यकाई दिन्छ, तर कसैको हृदयको शोकले आत्मालाई दुःखी र खिन्न बनाउँछ।
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 विवेकशील हृदयले अझ ज्ञान पाउने चेष्टा गर्छ, तर मूर्खले खाली मूर्खता मात्र खोजि रहन्छ।
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
15 गरीब मानिसहरूको समय सधैं दुःखमय हुन्छ, तर सुखी हृदय लगातार उत्सव जस्तै सुखमय हुन्छ।
All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
16 धेरै धन हुनु र त्ययसबाट दुःख पाउनु भन्दा थोरै हुनु तर परमप्रभुलाई सत्कार गर्नु उत्तम हो।
Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.
17 घृणाले भरिएको ठाउँमा धेरै खानु भन्दा, प्रेमले भरिएको ठाउँमा अलिकति खानु उत्तम हो।
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
18 एउटा क्रोधित मानिसले झगडा मच्चाउँछ तर सहनशील मानिसले झगडालाई शान्त गराउँछ।
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 एकजना अल्छे मानिसको मार्ग, काढाहरूले भरिएको हुन्छ, तर ईमानदार मानिसको मार्ग फराकिलो बाटो झैं हुन्छ।
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
20 एक बुद्धिमानी छोरोले बाबुको निम्ति खुशीयाली ल्याउँछ भने, मूर्ख छोरोले उसको आमालाई हेला गर्छ।
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 मूर्खलाई दुष्ट कामले खुशी तुल्याँउछ। तर ज्ञानी मानिसले के सही हो त्यो गर्छ।
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
22 चाँहिदो परामर्श नपाएर एकजना मानिस आफ्नो योजनामा विफल हुन सक्छ, तर धेरै परामर्शदाताहरूको सल्लाहले ऊ आफ्नो योजनामा सफल हुन सक्छ।
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.
23 सही जवाफ दिन सके मानिस खुशी हुन्छ, र ठीक समयमा सही जवाफ अत्यन्तै राम्रो हो।
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
24 बुद्धिमान मानिसले गरेको कामले उसलाई यस पृथ्वीमा जीवन दिन्छ अनि मृत्यु स्थानतिर जान रोक्छ।
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
25 अहंकारीको घर परमप्रभुले भताभुङ्ग पारिदिनुहुन्छ भने, विधवाको साँध-सीमानमा उहाँले सुरक्षित राखि दिनु हुन्छ।
The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
26 दुष्ट मानिसहरूको विचारलाई परमप्रभु घृणा गर्नु हुन्छ तर उहाँले शुद्ध मानिसहरूको विचार सँग खुशी हुनु हुन्छ।
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
27 लोभी मानिसले आफ्नै घरमा आफ्द बोलाउँछ, तर त्यो मानिस बाँची रहन्छ जसले घूसलाई घृणा गर्छ।
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 एउटा धर्मी मानिसले प्रत्येक शब्द तौलँदै भन्छ। तर दुष्ट मानिसहरूको मुखबाट दुष्ट कुराहरू निस्कन्छन्।
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 परमप्रभु दुष्ट मानिसबाट टाढा बस्नु हुन्छ, तर उहाँले धर्मी मानिसहरूको प्रार्थना सुन्नु हुन्छ।
The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 एउटा उज्यालो अनुहारको हेराइले मनलाई खुशी पार्छ, अनि शुभ समाचारले हड्डी भित्र पनि खुशी संचार गर्छ।
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 जसले जीवनदायी झपेडाईको अवहेलना गर्दैन, ऊ बुद्धिमान मानिसहरूको बीचमा बस्नेछ।
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 जुन मानिसले अनुशासनलाई अस्वीकार गर्छ उसले आफ्नो जीवनमा कष्ट ल्याउँछ, तर जसले हप्काइलाई स्वीकार गर्छ उसले समझशक्ति पाँउछ।
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 परमप्रभुको डरले मानिसमा बुद्धि सिकाउँछ। आदर पाउँनु भन्दा अघि नम्रता आउँछ।
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
