Proverbs 20 - BBE (Malayalam)

1 Wine makes men foolish, and strong drink makes men come to blows; and whoever comes into error through these is not wise.വീഞ്ഞു പരിഹാസിയും മദ്യം കലഹക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു; അതിനാൽ ചാഞ്ചാടി നടക്കുന്ന ആരും ജ്ഞാനിയാകയില്ല.

2 The wrath of a king is like the loud cry of a lion: he who makes him angry does wrong against himself.രാജാവിന്റെ ഭീഷണം സിംഹഗർജ്ജനം പോലെ; അവനെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

3 It is an honour for a man to keep from fighting, but the foolish are ever at war.വ്യവഹാരം ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു പുരുഷന്നു മാനം; എന്നാൽ ഏതു ഭോഷനും ശണ്ഠകൂടും.

4 The hater of work will not do his ploughing because of the winter; so at the time of grain-cutting he will be requesting food and will get nothing.മടിയൻ ശീതംനിമിത്തം ഉഴാതിരിക്കുന്നു; കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അവൻ ഇരക്കും; ഒന്നും കിട്ടുകയുമില്ല.

5 The purpose in the heart of a man is like deep water, but a man of good sense will get it out.മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ആലോചന ആഴമുള്ള വെള്ളം; വിവേകമുള്ള പുരുഷനോ അതു കോരി എടുക്കും.

6 Most men make no secret of their kind acts: but where is a man of good faith to be seen?മിക്ക മനുഷ്യരും തങ്ങളോടു ദയാലുവായ ഒരുത്തനെ കാണും; എന്നാൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായ ഒരുത്തനെ ആർ കണ്ടെത്തും?

7 An upright man goes on in his righteousness: happy are his children after him!പരമാർത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്നവൻ നീതിമാൻ; അവന്റെ ശേഷം അവന്റെ മക്കളും ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

8 A king on the seat of judging puts to flight all evil with his eyes.ന്യായാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന രാജാവു തന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു സകലദോഷത്തെയും പേറ്റിക്കളയുന്നു.

9 Who is able to say, I have made my heart clean, I am free from my sin?ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു പാപം ഒഴിഞ്ഞു നിർമ്മലനായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ആർക്കു പറയാം?

10 Unequal weights and unequal measures, they are all disgusting to the Lord.രണ്ടുതരം തൂക്കവും രണ്ടുതരം അളവും രണ്ടും ഒരുപോലെ യഹോവെക്കു വെറുപ്പു.

11 Even a child may be judged by his doings, if his work is free from sin and if it is right.ബാല്യത്തിലെ ക്രിയകളാൽ തന്നേ ഒരുത്തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി വെടിപ്പും നേരുമുള്ളതാകുമോ എന്നു അറിയാം.

12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye are equally the Lord's work.കേൾക്കുന്ന ചെവി, കാണുന്ന കണ്ണു, ഇവ രണ്ടും യഹോവ ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

13 Do not be a lover of sleep, or you will become poor: keep your eyes open, and you will have bread enough.ദരിദ്രനാകാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിദ്രാപ്രിയനാകരുതു; നീ കണ്ണു തുറക്ക; നിനക്കു വേണ്ടുവോളം ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകും.

14 A poor thing, a poor thing, says he who is giving money for goods: but when he has gone on his way, then he makes clear his pride in what he has got.വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങുന്നവൻ ചീത്തചീത്ത എന്നു പറയുന്നു; വാങ്ങി തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോകുമ്പോഴോ അവൻ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.

15 There is gold and a store of corals: but the lips of knowledge are a jewel of great price.പൊന്നും അനവധി മുത്തുകളും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളോ വിലയേറിയ ആഭരണം.

16 Take a man's clothing if he makes himself responsible for a strange man, and get an undertaking from him who gives his word for strange men.അന്യന്നു വേണ്ടി ജാമ്യം നില്ക്കുന്നവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തുകൊൾക; അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്നു വേണ്ടി ഉത്തരവാദി ആകുന്നവനോടു പണയം വാങ്ങുക.

17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but after, his mouth will be full of sand.വ്യാജത്താൽ നേടിയ ആഹാരം മനുഷ്യന്നു മധുരം; പിന്നത്തേതിലോ അവന്റെ വായിൽ ചരൽ നിറയും.

18 Every purpose is put into effect by wise help: and by wise guiding make war.ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ ആലോചനകൊണ്ടു സാധിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ ഭരണസാമർത്ഥ്യത്തോടെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്ക.

19 He who goes about talking of the business of others gives away secrets: so have nothing to do with him whose lips are open wide.നുണയനായി നുടക്കുന്നവൻ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ആകയാൽ വിടുവായനോടു ഇടപെടരുതു.

20 If anyone puts a curse on his father or his mother, his light will be put out in the blackest night.ആരെങ്കിലും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ദുഷിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ വിളക്കു കൂരിരുട്ടിൽ കെട്ടുപോകും.

21 A heritage may be got quickly at first, but the end of it will not be a blessing.ഒരു അവകാശം ആദിയിൽ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു കൈവശമാക്കാം; അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കയില്ല.

22 Do not say, I will give punishment for evil: go on waiting for the Lord, and he will be your saviour.ഞാൻ ദോഷത്തിന്നു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുമെന്നു നീ പറയരുതു; യഹോവയെ കാത്തിരിക്ക; അവൻ നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

23 Unequal weights are disgusting to the Lord, and false scales are not good.രണ്ടുതരം തൂക്കം യഹോവെക്കു വെറുപ്പു; കള്ളത്തുലാസും കൊള്ളരുതു.

24 A man's steps are of the Lord; how then may a man have knowledge of his way?മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗതികൾ യഹോവയാൽ നിയമിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; പിന്നെ മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴി എങ്ങനെ ഗ്രഹിക്കാം?

25 It is a danger to a man to say without thought, It is holy, and, after taking his oaths, to be questioning if it is necessary to keep them.“ഇതു നിവേദിതം” എന്നു തത്രപ്പെട്ടു നേരുന്നതും നേർന്നശേഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കണി.

26 A wise king puts evil-doers to flight, and makes their evil-doing come back on them.ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള രാജാവു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ പേറ്റിക്കളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ മേൽ അവൻ മെതിവണ്ടി ഉരുട്ടുന്നു.

27 The Lord keeps watch over the spirit of man, searching all the deepest parts of the body.മനുഷ്യന്റെ ആത്മാവു യഹോവയുടെ ദീപം; അതു ഉദരത്തിന്റെ അറകളെ ഒക്കെയും ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു.

28 Mercy and good faith keep the king safe, and the seat of his power is based on upright acts.ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും രാജാവിനെ കാക്കുന്നു; ദയകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

29 The glory of young men is their strength, and the honour of old men is their grey hairs.യൌവനക്കാരുടെ ശക്തി അവരുടെ പ്രശംസ; വൃദ്ധന്മാരുടെ നര അവരുടെ ഭൂഷണം.

30 By the wounds of the rod evil is taken away, and blows make clean the deepest parts of the body.ഉദരത്തിന്റെ അറകളിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുന്ന തല്ലും പൊട്ടിപ്പോകത്തക്ക അടിയും ദോഷത്തെ അടിച്ചുവാരിക്കളയുന്നു.
