Numbers 3:12
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പിറക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിന്നും പകരം ഞാൻ ലേവ്യരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ലേവ്യർ എനിക്കുള്ളവരായിരിക്കേണം.

| from among | מִתּוֹךְ֙ | mittôk | mee-toke |
| the children | בְּנֵ֣י | bĕnê | beh-NAY |
| of Israel | יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| instead of | תַּ֧חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| all | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
| the firstborn | בְּכ֛וֹר | bĕkôr | beh-HORE |
| that openeth | פֶּ֥טֶר | peṭer | PEH-ter |
| the matrix | רֶ֖חֶם | reḥem | REH-hem |
| children the among | מִבְּנֵ֣י | mibbĕnê | mee-beh-NAY |
| of Israel: | יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| therefore the Levites | וְהָ֥יוּ | wĕhāyû | veh-HA-yoo |
| shall be | לִ֖י | lî | lee |
| mine; | הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ | halwiyyim | hahl-vee-YEEM |
