Matthew 23 - ASV (Malayalam)

1 Then spake Jesus to the multitudes and to his disciples,അനന്തരം യേശു പുരുഷാരത്തോടും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു:

2 saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses seat:“ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും മോശെയുടെ പീഠത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

3 all things therefore whatsoever they bid you, `these' do and observe: but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not.ആകയാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ പോലെ ചെയ്യരുതു താനും. അവർ പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

4 Yea, they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.അവർ ഘനമുള്ള ചുമടുകളെ കെട്ടി മനുഷ്യരുടെ തോളിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; ഒരു വിരൽ കെണ്ടുപോലും അവയെ തൊടുവാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

5 But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders `of their garments',അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ എല്ലാം മനുഷ്യർ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു; തങ്ങളുടെ മന്ത്രപ്പട്ട വീതിയാക്കി തൊങ്ങൽ വലുതാക്കുന്നു.

6 and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,അത്താഴത്തിൽ പ്രധാനസ്ഥലവും പള്ളിയിൽ മുഖ്യാസനവും

7 and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi.അങ്ങാടിയിൽ വന്ദനവും മനുഷ്യർ റബ്ബീ എന്നു വളിക്കുന്നതും അവർക്കു പ്രിയമാകുന്നു.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.നിങ്ങളോ റബ്ബീ എന്നു പേർ എടുക്കരുതു. ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു;

9 And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, `even' he who is in heaven.നിങ്ങളോ എല്ലാവരും സഹോദരന്മാർ. ഭൂമിയിൽ ആരെയും പിതാവു എന്നു വിളിക്കരുതു; ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥൻ തന്നേ.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, `even' the Christ.നിങ്ങൾ നായകന്മാർ എന്നും പേർ എടുക്കരുതു, ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ നായകൻ, ക്രിസ്തു തന്നെ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.നിങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരൻ ആകേണം.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യർക്കു സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ കടക്കുന്നില്ല, കടക്കുന്നവരെ കടപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. (കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീർഘമായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതു ഹേതുവായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു കടുമയേറിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധി വരും;)

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, even while for a pretence ye make long prayers: therefore ye shall receive greater condemnation.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുത്തനെ മതത്തിൽ ചേർക്കുവാൻ കടലും കരയും ചുറ്റി നടക്കുന്നു;

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves.ചേർന്നശേഷം അവനെ നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഇരട്ടിച്ച നരകയോഗ്യൻ ആക്കുന്നു.

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.ആരെങ്കിലും മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല എന്നും മന്ദിരത്തിലെ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നും പറയുന്ന കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം.

17 Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?മൂഢന്മാരും കുരുടുന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? സ്വർണ്ണമോ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന മന്ദിരമോ?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.യാഗപീഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല; അതിന്മേലുള്ള വഴിപാടു ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.

19 Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?കുരുടന്മാരായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? വഴിപാടോ വഴിപാടിനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യാഗ പീഠമോ?

20 He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.ആകയാൽ യാഗപിഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിന്മേലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

21 And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22 And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യംചെയ്യുന്നവൻ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെയും അതിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ തുളസി, ചതകുപ്പ, ജീരകം ഇവയിൽ പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായം, കരുണ, വിശ്വസ്തത ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഘനമേറിയവ ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അതു ചെയ്കയും ഇതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം.

24 Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ കൊതുകിനെ അരിച്ചെടുക്കയും ഒട്ടകത്തെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു; അകത്തോ കവർച്ചയും അതിക്രമവും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also.കുരുടനായ പരീശനെ, കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മുമ്പെ അവയുടെ അകം വെടിപ്പാക്കുക.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; വെള്ളതേച്ച ശവക്കല്ലറകളോടു നിങ്ങൾ ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറമെ അഴകായി ശോഭിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും അകമെ ചത്തവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും സകലവിധ അശുദ്ധിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പുറമെ നിങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു മനുഷ്യർക്കു തോന്നുന്നു; അകമെയോ കപടഭക്തിയും അധർമ്മവും നിറഞ്ഞവരത്രേ.

29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous,കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിതും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ അലങ്കരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു:

30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.ഞങ്ങൾ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിൽ കൂട്ടാളികൾ ആകയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

31 Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊന്നവരുടെ മക്കൾ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അളവു നിങ്ങൾ പൂരിച്ചു കൊൾവിൻ.

33 Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell?പാമ്പുകളേ, സർപ്പസന്തതികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ നരകവിധി എങ്ങനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും?

34 Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചിലരെ നിങ്ങൾ ക്രൂശിച്ചു കൊല്ലുകയും ചിലരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിക്കയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

35 that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.നീതിമാനായ ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തംമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും നടുവിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നവനായി ബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ രക്തംവരെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ നീതിയുള്ള രക്തം എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.ഇതൊക്കെയും ഈ തലമുറമേൽ വരും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!യെരൂശലേമേ, യെരൂശലേമേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുകയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നവളേ, കോഴി തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ചിറകിൻ കീഴിൽ ചേർക്കുംപോലെ നിന്റെ മക്കളെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ എനിക്കു എത്രവട്ടം മനസ്സായിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ മനസ്സായില്ല.

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനം ശൂന്യമായ്തീരും.

39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed `is' he that cometh in the name of the Lord.‘കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
