നീചന്മാരായ നിസ്സാരന്മാർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടി, ശലോമോന്റെ മകനായ രെഹബെയാമിനോടു ദാർഷ്ട്യം കാണിച്ചു; രെഹബെയാമോ യൌവനക്കാരനും മനോബലമില്ലാത്തവനുമായിരുന്നതിനാൽ അവരോടു എതിർത്തുനില്പാൻ അവന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
