ഉല്പത്തി 49:3-4

3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

3 രൂബേനേ, നീ എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ, എന്റെ വീര്യവും എന്റെ ശക്തിയുടെ ആദ്യഫലവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയുടെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും ബലത്തിന്റെ വൈശിഷ്ട്യവും തന്നേ

4 വെള്ളംപോലെ തുളുമ്പുന്നവനേ, നീ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനാകയില്ല; നീ അപ്പന്റെ കിടക്കമേൽ കയറി അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി; എന്റെ ശയ്യമേൽ അവൻ കയറിയല്ലോ.
